About this deal

These headphones new, organic, wraparound design is about 20% lighter than previous Titanium version which allows a more flexible fit. This leads to a more unnoticeable comfort and stability for wearing.

That said, if you're just after the Shokz Trekz Air for fitness use, then the battery will be great and easily last a marathon for nearly everyone. The big benefit of the technology is that thanks to its open design, you can hear what's going on around you while listening to They might be a unique proposition, but the Trekz Air are no heavyweight; they weigh a mere 30g. However, the soft silicon covering together with the careful positioning of the electronics means that the Trekz Air tend to stay in one place, however active. In fact, they barely move whatever it is you're doing. The OpenFit design of the headphones allows you to be fully aware of your surroundings as they do not obstruct or sit within your ears, making them great for use during outdoor sports or exercise, such as running or cycling, or if you need to be aware of your surroundings during work. Despite the open design of the headphones, sound leakage is minimal with only the high end of a song being audible from close-by. The headphones allow you to remain aware of your surroundings. If you're a proud owner of Air, Aeropex, or Titanium headphones, then you probably already know that they're equipped with a multipoint pairing feature -- a fun little perk that previous models didn’t have. Re-enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the power/volume+ button for 5-7 seconds. Audrey will say “Welcome to Titanium!” and then “pairing” and then the LED light will flash red and blue. Most importantly, they stay out of your ears completely—which is the big feature that drove me to buy them on an experimental basis in the first place. AfterShokz headphones don't leave you with sore or sweaty ears after hours of continuous use. The comfort factor isn't perfect—I find myself wanting to wiggle the headphones around a little after three or more hours—but it's a definite improvement. Enjoy up to six hours of continuous music along with calls on a single full charge, or 20 days of standby time. To charge the Trekz Air to maximum life takes approximately 2 hours. Durability

That completes the multipoint pairing process! With a little help from Bluetooth technology, your headphones should now be connected to two of your devices simultaneously the next time you turn them on.The headphones also come with some accessories, including a silicone rubber carrying case and earplugs within the box. It’s nice to see that a carrying case has been included to protect the headphones when not in use. Battery Life Of course, these will feel different to regular headphones when you first put them on, but their design characteristics make them fade away and prevent them from being distracting. As someone who has not used bone conduction headphones before, I was impressed with how pleasant these were to wear. Sound Quality

Re-enter the pairing process. Press and hold the power/volume up button until the voice assistant says, “Pairing.” Wait for the LED to flash red and blue. Press and hold the power/volume up button until the voice assistant says, “Pairing.” The LED behind the right side of the headset will flash red/blue. Set-up was easy, with a female voice called Audrey confirming that the Bluetooth pairing process with a phone had worked. Thanks, Audrey. These are also so minimal looking that they aren’t immediately noticed on people wearing them as the thin frame helps make them blend better without drawing significant attention to themselves. Press and hold the power/ volume up button for 5 to 7 seconds. The voice prompt will say, “Welcome to Air,” followed by, “Pairing.” The LED will flash red/blue.Expertise Mobile accessories and portable audio, including headphones, earbuds and speakers Credentials

On the flip side, ambient noise can, of course, distract you from your content. This is less of a problem than you might think—something about the bone conduction "centers" the sound perceptually, and it was generally very easy to distinguish between ambient audio and content, with little difficulty ignoring the former and concentrating on the latter. The controls are simple, too; on the right-hand side are volume buttons, which send a tone to the speakers with every press (and a higher-pitch tone when the maximum volume is reached). That's important because, as open-ear headphones, there is a risk of sound leakage. The key design feature of the Trekz Air is, of course, that they're not earphones at all, but speakers. Shokz calls this 'OpenFit', and despite them allowing you to hear what's going on around you, one of those small bone conduction transducers comes with a further safety option; a mute button. On the left-hand side and easy to find, it's designed for the user to press when, say, crossing a busy road. I found the immersion of the headphones to be fantastic. As the headphones sit around your ears, the sound is also coming in from around your ears, not from within your ears, so the stereo listening experience is quite fantastic as it sounds like the music is around you. I found the volume to be good for my use-case, listening at around 50-60% although I could see the possibility of some users wanting a little more headroom if they are in a noisy environment. The headphones have clear high-end frequency sound, which makes vocals sound great and the headphones great if you listen to a lot of spoken word content or listen to podcasts. The mid frequencies also sound good, but I do wish that they were a little more pronounced, unfortunately, there’s no companion app for these headphones but you could adjust the EQ in your music app of choice. The new Air is everything you love about Titanium, but with advanced features and improvements. Not only is the new design 20% lighter, it contains a full titanium wraparound band for better durability, new antenna for stronger Bluetooth ® connectivity, enhanced dual noise-cancelling mics for crystal-clear calls, improved LeakSlayer ™ technology for a more private listening experience, and redesigned transducers that deliver high-quality PremiumPitch+ sound with more bass tones. Standby time is also good—AfterShokz claims up to 20 days of standby time, which again seems a bit conservative. After leaving a Titanium headset off the charger for a week, it still registered 90 percent charge. A fully discharged headset requires a bit less than two hours to completely charge. The AfterShokz Trekz Air is a very likable sports headphone, particularly for people who want a secure fitting headphone that doesn't cover or prod their ears.
