About this deal

Let’s start by making one thing clear: this isn’t the most powerful shower on the market. If you’re looking for an electric shower with maximum heat output, you need to head for the 10.5kW and 10.8kW models on this list. Like the Seville, the Mira Sport 10.8 kw electric shower is super simple to use. You’ll get individual push buttons for low, high, and eco modes, and a control dial to adjust the temperature. I especially like that the dial lets you set the temperature very closely to your desired level. Shower Head There are 100s more showers from top brands such as Triton, Bristan, Mira and Aqualisa we could add to this list; but we’ll round it out with the Bristan Glee 10.5kW electric shower. Power showers are more expensive than electric or mixer showers and use a lot more water. As well as being bad for the environment, if you have a water meter you’ll notice the impact on your water bill. If you have a high-pressure system, they’ll typically give you a higher flow rate than an electric model.

The problem with even the best electric shower units is that the installation area isn’t very flexible. There are fixed points that need to be secured, which means installing in a new area, or matching up to the existing pipework is a usually challenge. Digital showers are more expensive than standard mixer or power showers. In our latest customer survey we found they were less reliable than more traditional units – the more advanced technology means there’s more that can go wrong. What shower features are important? Some versions let you set the maximum and minimum water temperature and include smart functionality to monitor use - something that carers might find very useful. How much do showers cost to buy and to fit?

Electric Shower Installation Costs

Triton Seville 10.5kW— best all-rounder electric shower, with a high power output and flow rate, and a reasonable price point. The Bristan Glee electric shower needs to have access to 0.7 bar – 10 bar of mains water pressure. Bristan make installation easy by ensuring that the footprint of the unit covers up any holes left behind by your old shower. Ease Of Use [And Design] The Bristan Bliss comes with a unique, phased shut-down feature. This ensures that all hot water is flushed from the shower before the unit turns off. Doing so reduces the build-up of limescale and prolongs the life and efficiency of your electric shower. Who Should Buy The Bristan Bliss 10.5kW Electric Shower?

When choosing an electric shower you need to consider its kilowatt (kW) rating. These range from around 7kW to 10.8kW. Really love it, good flow easy to use and switch to and fro with the swapping shower head use is flawless. Is the electric cable running to the shower big enough? Triton recommends a 6mm cable for a 7kW shower, increasing to 10mm for models above 8kW. Have a shop around, and you should be able to shave off a couple of notes. Best Electric Shower in 2023

If there's hot water and you have a gravity fed system with poor water pressure, you should get a power shower.

Electric showers take water from your mains cold water supply and heat it on demand, by passing the water over a built-in heating element. This means electric shower units are a great option for lowering your water and energy usage, as ours are 98% efficient. Mira electric showers are proven to last longer, thanks to our revolutionary Mira Clearscale™ technology. Included as standard, it reduces the build-up of limescale by up to 50%, resulting in a longer-lasting shower, and better performance for you. Learn more in our guide to buying an electric shower. If you have low water pressure or a gravity-fed water system, an electric shower will make a real difference to your bathroom. Heating and pumping water instantly inside a self-contained system, electric power showers are more energy efficient as they run from a cold-water supply, giving you plenty of hot water on demand at any time of the day. If you don’t want to go full-on digital with something like the Bristan Bliss, but the Seville is a bit too boring, the Mira Sport Max electric shower offers a fantastic middle ground. And the fact it’s 10.8kW means that in terms of power, it is the best electric shower on this list. In general, the higher the rating, the more powerful your shower will be - although you may notice a drop in winter, when the colder water takes longer to heat up. If you have a hot water tank but no cold water tank then you have a high-pressure unvented water system. Water is stored in the strengthened hot water tank, often situated in an airing cupboard, and is then heated by either immersion heaters or by a central heating boiler.Although they can be used in high-pressure systems, you’ll usually get a higher flow rate from a mixer shower if you have this sort of setup at home. If you live in a hard water area then their heating elements can be affected by limescale (in the same way it can affect the element in your kettle). If there's hot water and you have a gravity fed system with good water pressure, you should get a mixer shower. If you have a combination (combi) boiler then you have a high-pressure vented water system. In this system your combi boiler, usually located in your kitchen, heats cold water from the cold mains supply as soon as you turn on the shower, removing the need for a storage tank.
