About this deal
So far I've had the same IP, the modem set it's self up with the 3internet APN which apparently results in a public IP address and no NAT at Three's end. One of these LAN ports can also be used as a WAN connection, so that one does not necessarily have to rely on the wireless modem integrated in the router.
In particular, the new LTE wireless router was convincing, this offers above-average speeds and is extremely future-proof. I think I might have when I first got it, and am pretty sure you can still use the default IP address to get to the mgmt pages. The modem part of the router is a good one - but let down by buggy software and ISP locking out features and Huawei will not attempt to support it.
Moving to a semi-rural place with no Virgin Media and BT speeds (and other providers) only promise up to 50-60Mbps.
One product data-sheet can have multiple barcodes depending on logistical or product variants based on packaging, country, sizes, colors, etc. As you've already found, the user interface is identical to my 5G Hub from Three (Huawei CPE Pro H112-370).The package contents refer to the version as Gigacube CAT19, other variants of the B818 may be delivered with a modified accessory. I gave it a custom, I couldn't assign it default, saved it and it seemed to have it as main one on completion, , it was bolded out, switched off pc, unhooked ethernet cable, transferred cable to tv, youtube loaded straight up,all the thumbnails straight away as they should, yeay! HUAWEI who seem to be the most dishonorable of rats here, yes DISHONORable, rather ironic eh, who pushed me onto Optus instead of helping (well, with rather little help)and that AFTER getting router's serial number from me, I do not know if the router can be put across to Huawei firmware, do you? Huawei B818 is now only available for Vodafone Contract, if you need the unlocked unit, you have to wait for more time. All internal antenna connections have been re-routed to the outside of the case, and are exposed as four secure SMA-female connections on the side of the router.
