Lake Windermere is a 35 minute drive; Ullswater, 25 minutes' drive, Hawes - in the Yorkshire Dales - is 30 minutes' drive; so many lovely places to visit.

The nearest train station is Runcorn East or Runcorn, from where you can cycle or take a pre-booked taxi, or Runcorn where there is a permanent taxi rank. Garden: Although there is no private garden, the cottage is surrounded by countryside with several picnic tables and visitors have immediate access to the grounds on the estate. The region is home to countless Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, National Parks and World Heritage Sites.
