About this deal

Your donations help keep the WOTC meet its daily operating expenses and most importantly spreading the word of our Goddess. Thank you in advance for your generosity. This is also where you can pay for WoTC’s School of Witchcraft courses and any type of reading, clearing, blessing, or spellwork. Berkana symbolizes the birch tree and new beginnings. Unlike some other runes, Berkana represents a gentle rebirth or renewal. It can suggest that healing growth or change is coming or needs to be done. It also represents the conscious decision to manifest something onto the physical plane. Don’t memorize the rune attributes from books, simply use the rune poems as your only reference — meditate on them. Let the runes themselves reveal their secrets to you. Gebo is literally an X but when looked at deeper is the union between two lines…or in a personal view the union between two people. They are separate but meet in the middle and form one symbol together. Just like a partnership or a marriage. I also like the fact that the X symbol is frequently used as a warning sign in the physical world…therefore is just as effective in the spiritual world to warn negativity away from a special union. How to Use Protection Runes ICELANDIC RUNE POEM: “Wealth is a source of discord amongst kin and fire of the sea and path of the serpent.”

I trow I hung on that windy Tree nine whole days and nights, stabbed with a spear, offered to Odin, myself to mine own self given, high on that Tree of which none hath heard from what roots it rises to heaven.”The third set of eight runes are ruled over by Tyr and Ziza. These runes connect to spirituality, emotions, and how we interact with the world. The runes in Tyr’s ætt are Tiwaz, Berkana, Ehwaz, Mannaz, Laguz, Inguz, Dagaz, and Othala. I didn’t come up with the idea of turning seashells into witches’ runes. I’ve seen many a witch take the opportunity to turn collected shells into something special. AND I capitalized on it! You can, too! Gather 13 seashells or stones, of relatively similar size and shape, then draw or paint a witches rune on each. I painted my shells blue to honor the water element even more AND used gold for the actual runes. Get creative and store them in a special bag. Tips on How to Bond With Your Witch Runes For instance, you could use it in a spell to increase family bonds or to strengthen a loving friendship. The second Aett is Hagal’s Aettir and the the runes are Hagalaz/Hoegl, Nauthiz, Isa/Iss, Jera, Eihwaz, Pertho, Algiz and Sowilō/Sowelu.

Remember: This will be a list of some overt meanings for the runes that work for me. You may add to these meanings over time or change those that don't seem to fit, so don't forget to make a rune journal entry for each Witch's Rune. One of my favorite witchcraft symbols is called the Vegvesir. Technically it’s not a witchcraft symbol but a religious Icelandic symbol that’s also called the Viking Compass. The symbol is particularly used for “finding one’s way” in the dark or in stormy conditions. While you could take this literally, as the Vikings were seafaring people, you could also use this symbol’s energy to help guide you in your everyday life. Even through treacherous waters, so to speak. 15. The Key The word “rune” comes from an Old Norse word “rūn”, which means “hidden, secret, whisper, mystery, magic sign”. In Old Irish Gaelic, the word rún means “mystery, secret, “intention, affectionate love.” Similarly in Welsh and Old English, the word rhin and rūn respectively means “mystery, secret, secret writing”. When I’ve had tough times in my marriage, this rune seems to pop up in random places. Reminding me that my union is truly a gift. And to treat it as such. If you’re looking for a protection rune that specifically guards a romantic relationship, Gebo is your symbol. If someone or something is threatening your relationship, this protective rune will help your relationship rise above the threat and thrive. Remember: Negative. Warning, there is danger ahead. Slow down and be cautious about your progression forward on this path. You may need to cut out negativity and get rid of people and things that no longer serve you. There may be a parting of ways from what you once knew, such as a break up or being fired from a job. Avoid risky choices and sabotaging a good thing. You may have an enemy nearby.Keep collections to yourself or inspire other shoppers! Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. Dost know how to write? Dost know how to read? Dost know how to paint? Dost know how to prove? Dost know how to ask? Dost know how to offer? Dost know how to send? Dost know how to spend? — Hávamál (Rúnatal Óðins)

What witchcraft symbol(s) you choose is up to you. What symbol calls to you? Makes you feel protected, loved, powerful? Sometimes we have a past life connection with a symbol, and sometimes the symbol represents an energy we need in our lives. 1. Triple Moon Witchcraft Symbol

The Three Aetts of the Elder Futhark

Isa symbolizes “ice” or being frozen. It is the time when you are unable to move forward. This could mean spiritually or it could mean more literally if in regards to a project, plan, or relationship. This is an indicator that things have been put on hold and it is time to go within. If things have been overflowing in a negative way, it could also represent the need for boundaries. The powerful way of becoming acquainted with the runes is to make a set for yourself. You can use wood, stone, bone, clay etc. One of my favorite rune material is animal bone. I have always been fascinated with bones and feel a strong connection to them. If you are going to use bone to make your own rune set, If you are able to, use the bone of your spirit animal or totem.

Learning the runes takes discipline, but the reward is enormous. Below are some of my personal methods and practices I use: The Helm of Awe or the Helm of Terror is a magical stave of Icelandic origin. The Poetic Edda mentions the Helm of Awe as a protective amulet and when used as such strikes fear into the enemy’s heart. The symbol itself looks like a wheel of eight trident arms. It just looks bad ass. This witchcraft symbol is great when you need a victory or for fierce protection from enemies. The Pentagram showing all 5 elements 9. Pentacle

In the lore, Óðinn (Odin) went through a shamanic Initiation rite and hung himself on the World Tree (Yggdrasil) for 9 days and nights. Wounded by his own spear, experiencing shamanic trance, suffering and giving his own blood as a sacrifice, he managed to rip open a gap, a gateway in Ginnungagap (“darkness, abyss, primordial void”) for the runes to come through. Think: The brightness of the sun illuminates all things and chases away the shadows of doubt and depression. The sun helps plants grow and flourish. Jera represents the “harvest.” In contrast to Isa, it represents the time when you can enjoy the fruits of your work. It is a reminder that there is a cycle or process to all things.
