Alex Cross - Book Series In Order Alex Cross - Book Series In Order

Patterson is famous for his short sharp chapters that turn out to be a real honeytrap for me. When taking a book to bed, it’s far too tempting to read just that one extra chapter and before long it’s hours later. So, yes another all-nighter here. For long-term readers, it should carry a warning that we have to say goodbye to a beloved character in the series. It’s a very clever story that combines 3 different cases, emotional heartache and a satisfying solution. I was so excited to receive an ARC for the new Alex Cross book and it was as good as I had hoped. I absolutely adore this series and feel like I know Alex, Bree, Nana Mama and the gang. Dr Alex Cross is called to work on a Homicide case by his wife Chief of Detectives Bree Stone, as he knows both high profile victims. Both shot and all valuables stolen. Alex calls in best friend and former partner at DC Homicide, John Sampson to work the case. Whilst Bree works on a seemingly unrelated case involving kidnapping and murder... Lots of twists and turns going on through this investigation. Alex getting in some hairy situations, which isn't new to him. John goes through personal heartbreak due to a close bereavement, effecting both families... Deadly Cross opens with a double murder of a respected School Principal and the ex-wife of the Vice President of the US, shot and found in fragrante delicto during a midnight tryst in the VP’s wife’s Bentley. There’s another ongoing Police investigation into a serial rapist and murderer of teenaged girls from a small chunk of the Metro area, who’s escaped capture for over 15 years. Recently two girls were abducted and found violated and murdered about 48 hours after their kidnapping. While John Sampson of DC Metro Police investigates the last movements of Christopher Randall, the educator killed along with Kay Willingham, detective Alex Cross and FBI special agent Ned Mahoney find unanswered questions from Willingham's past, before she arrived in DC and became known in DC society as someone who could make things happen. They travel to Alabama to investigate Kay's early years. There they find a world of trouble, corruption, and secrets, all of them closed to outsiders like Cross and Mahoney. Is it just me or does it feel like FOREVER since the last Alex Cross installment? Can you believe it's now book #28!

James Patterson - Deadly Cross James Patterson - Deadly Cross

The book was adapted into a film starring Morgan Freeman in 2001. The role of main character Alex Cross was also taken up, played by Tyler Perry in the 2012 film titled Alex Cross. The adaptation of the Middle School novel by Patterson for middle grade students came out in theaters in 2016. The author eventually decided to move to New York and worked for an advertising agency as a junior copywriter. The North American company would eventually see Patterson become its CEO. While he was working there in 1976, the author saw his debut novel published. The Thomas Berryman Number was initially turned down on the behalf of no less than 31 publishers but went on to win praise and an Edgar Award. British diplomat Geoffrey Shafter is a man who never loses, he is prepared to play the game of games for the highest stakes of all. Ben Corbett is lawyer to the underprivileged and downtrodden in 1900s Washington, DC. Out of the blue, President Theodore Roosevelt invites Ben to the White House, asking him to investigate a resurgence of the Ku Klux Klan in Ben’s own home town.Who could have brutally murdered them and why? The search for answers takes Alex and Ned to Kay’s hometown of Alabama. Until the Family Man decides to flip the narrative and bring down Cross and his family. Alex Cross Spin Off: Cross Down (2023)

Sampson and Cross are in a race to find the killer in two mysteries. An "important" couple murdered in their car, and girls going missing and then found dead. It takes them a lot of investigating to get to the bottom of each of the murders, and the twists in the storyline really were some of Patterson's best. The man’s name is Gary Soneji, and his main goal is to commit the biggest crime that the century has ever seen. Main character Alex Cross, a homicide detective, is the only one with the experience and the smarts to take this villain on. He may be the only one that has what it takes to take Gary down before he pulls off his master plan. I feel like I have grown up with Alex and his family, and they all blend in with the story, whilst finding out more about them all. The book follows the murders of two prominent society members and looks like a case of a wife angry at her husbands betrayal so did she kill themFurther murders in California, and then on the East Coast as well, completely baffle Alex and the FBI. Is this the work of a cult, or role players, or even of modern-day vampires? Desperate to stop the deaths, Alex teams up with Jamilla Hughes, a savvy woman detective, and the FBI’s Kyle Craig. Dr. Alex Cross and Detective John Sampson venture into the rugged Montana wilderness–where theywill be the prey. Juggling family life, his practice and his commitment to law enforcement continues to be a balancing act with different facets of his life taking precedence over others in rotation. However, Alex Cross and his fans wouldn't have it any other way! That’s a lot of things to investigate. I’ve got to say that in this story there’s more slowly evolving, hard grafting policework than elaborate psychological theories.
