And yet in the end I yield to the words of the man who was once the voice of Paddington Bear and who is now the tribune of freedom. John Adams once said that the American nation was talked into being. Zelenskiy is the voice of Ukraine and, as he might say himself, our voice too.

The first TikTok war: how are influencers in Russia and

President Volodymyr Zelensky's message to the world - a rallying cry for us all to stand up, support Ukraine and fight for democracy The book has a beautiful preface by Arkady Ostrovsky, in which he talks about the 'We're here' speech, about his experience while meeting Zelensky, and offers his thoughts on the war and the current situation. And needless to say, it is longer than any Zelensky speech in the book 😊 But it is a beautiful, insightful preface. The book also has a beautiful introduction by the man himself, President Zelensky. Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy (also transliterated as Zelensky or Zelenskiy) is a Ukrainian politician and former comedian and actor who has served as the sixth and current president of Ukraine since 2019. i had the humbling opportunity to volunteer in ukraine for three months last summer, doing humanitarian aide and helping out the war effort. it was one of the most difficult, yet rewarding, experiences of my entire life. and this little book does a great job at describing so much of what i love about the ukrainian people. I’ve probably read as much about this conflict and Russian and Ukrainian history as any regular person in the States and felt like nothing in this work was repetitive. It’s essential reading.Nevertheless, he added, there is little to show how the Ukrainian authorities have arrived at their own total. The several thousand dead tally could itself be a slight exaggeration, he said. This is a rating of my enjoyment of the book rather than the actual content within it as Zelensky's speeches all come from the heart and speak the truth, something that requires such bravery and resilience. the speeches compiled expertly narrate the history, values, fight, voice, and identity of ukrainians and their nation. they are the most inspiring individuals i have ever come to know. every single ukrainian is going through the worst moments of their lives and, yet, i never heard a single person complain about their situation the entire time i was there. Ukrainian and Russian have some words that sound nearly the same, but they mean entirely different things. These words are known as “false friends” or “false cognates.” An example is родина , which means “family” in Ukrainian, but “homeland” in Russian. Such differences in meaning can lead to misunderstandings. We will meet the dawn together with the whole country. One day soon, loved ones will be together again.

A Message from Ukraine by Volodymyr Zelensky | Goodreads

Since Russia's invasion in February, his speeches have proved that when it comes to facing down Vladimir Putin's wrath, no-one copes with stage fright like a former stand-up. Prophetic though that warning was, the world only listened to Zelensky once it was too late. Indeed, since the war began, he has become the world's most in-demand speaker, speaking everywhere from the Commons to Congress and the Knesset to the Bundestag. Even so, he still makes a virtue of not sounding like a professional politician. Instead, Ostrovsky notes, he comes across as "an ordinary man thrust into extraordinary circumstances" - just like the Ukrainian citizens forced to take up arms to defend themselves. Volodymyr Zelenskyy talks about Ukraine through his speeches in such a elegant, poignant way. Every chapter talked about Ukraine throughout history not just from 2019-2022. You get the richness of Ukraine’s history told through the eyes of the president. I smiled and cried my way through this book. This is what it means to be Ukrainian! Russia will not win because try as they might they cannot erase us! They couldn’t eighty nine years ago with Holodomor (terror-famine) and they can’t now even though they have been trying for the past eight years since the revolution in 2014. This is such an inspiring and uplifting book which helps to boost morale, hope throughout this cruel invasion. We have one thing that Russia never will have. Our dignity, our freedom. We are free in an independent Ukraine and it will stay that way forever. If you’re unable to offer refuge or struggling to find the words like many of us are, your actions matter. Please consider donating to these valuable causes. And I am horrified to have that childhood refrain of the world banding together against bad guys taken away.Ukraine has faced several seismic events in its democratic self-government, including the Orange Revolution in 2004 and the Euromaidan Revolution in 2014 . March 2014 also brought the Russian invasion of Crimea . In response to the Russian occupation, tens of thousands of Tatars fled the Crimean peninsula. Cultural facts These are absolutely devastating days for Ukraine. As Ukrainians seek refuge in neighboring countries and beyond, the importance of clear communication is paramount. When the world feels turbulent, being understood in your own language can make a real difference. Besides music, literature, and film, Ukraine has given the world other distinctive cultural contributions. The country is known for its tradition of intricately painted eggs, called писанки́ ( pysanky) , as well its colorful вишива́нка ( vyshyvanka ) embroidery . In a modern twist, traditional-style Ukrainian pottery is being sold as NFTs (non-fungible tokens) in exchange for cryptocurrency. The Ukrainian language
