About this deal

It was also very fun, because I took turns reading the poems with my neice, who sometimes put them to her own tunes. My suspicions were further aroused when I went to add the poetry collection of Goodreads, which showed a much high page count (80-90 to a measly few) between volumes. Today, almost thirty years after her death, her work continues to offer delights that have stood the test of time. The characters of all the humble flowers and trees we can see along the lanes, in the fields and gardens are charmingly captured, with little asides that immortalise country sayings and wisdom.

Years ago I wore out my little Flower Fairy books and it's delightful to be able to replace them - poor broken tatty things that they are - with a big, fancy all inclusive book! The book will serve as the perfect reminder of the time you spent with your mum in the garden, or when you played amongst the flowers and pretended you had your very own fairy friends. Originally this book was published as eight individual books, but now it can be enjoyed in a stunning complete collection that tells the tales of those magical beings found in our gardens, who have come to teach us all about flowers. From Victorian Britain to the tech-savvy 20th century, the gentle enchantment and intimacy of the Flower Fairies ensure their enduring fascination and connection with the natural world. We get to learn which flowers bloom in summer, winder, spring and autumn, and even which berries are edible and which ones will send you off into the land of poison. The first adventure in the Folio Society editions of ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ series, Enid Blyton’s The Enchanted Wood features Jonathan Burton’s enchanting illustrations and a new introduction by Michael Morpurgo.

The groundbreaking debut novel of Hugo Award-winning author Becky Chambers, one of the most imaginative voices in contemporary science fiction, is a truly galactic limited edition.

Her charming poetry and delicate illustrations have sparked the imaginations of children for over ninety years and continue to inspire a life-long love for fairies and all things magical. He worked in the Department of Botany at the Natural History Museum from 1965 to 2007 and remains a Scientific Associate at the Museum. The fairies are beautiful Victorian children, scaled to size, with a set of wings and clothes made from parts of the plant. The book has the complete collection of poems of Cicely Mary Barker divided in sections with the drawings in great quality and detail.
