About this deal

The hero’s sexuality is treated like a kink and mentioned on the fly out of the blue at 50%. Even though we’re in his head quite a bit, he never even hints that he’s into men too. Not even kinda. It’s just dropped as a bomb after he’s done the deed with the h, to make him seem more edgy. It was handled so strangely. And then just forgotten. Okie dokie. Vanessa has been brought up within a strict family, were you are taught to feel s The story shows the reality of teenagers and young adults, where sex is casual and loses every romantic meaning- which is quite sad, as it’s sad the emotionless way both characters talk about it. I might be older but where are those fluttering in your belly, where’s the heart ache and the shivering, those emotions that are obvious absent in these people who treat sex as basic corporal function.

The best time to read a book depends on your personal schedule and preferences. Here are some suggestions: I don’t know. It’s just not really a grovel. Is he sorry? I’m sure he is. His “grovel” is explaining things to her? I mean, apologies and explanations are a needed element in a grovel certainly I just expected more. It’s hard to prove to someone you won’t manipulate them anymore. A few conversations and a family dinner aren’t going to do the job. It’s time and effort and open honest communication to build trust slowly. Let h see him prove he’s not going to be manipulative over time, let him put in the effort to show she’s his number one priority. Let him sweat it out while she goes on an awful date that he doesn’t try to break up. Do I want h dating another man? No, but let her see H won’t try to manipulate his way into breaking up a date. I don’t even need h to have a good time with OM just to establish H means what he says. Then he can be there for her and they can laugh about her awful date together. Let her see that H can learn to communicate his feelings and concerns without manipulating her because it’s easier than explaining himself. Skyler Mason has written a story that shows just how your upbringing and parents influence can effect your life. And then she's all like "I gotta not be attached to the first person who takes my v" and he's all growly like "you mine. You not fuggin anyone else!"

This story follows Vanessa, that grew up in a purity culture. This is the second book in the series and I havent read the first so would def say this can be read as a standalone. She wants rid of her virginity and isnt aftaid to admit it. She has a huge following on tiktok and announces that she has a deadline to ‘do it’. Vanessa was a strong fmc, always spoke her mind. She was realistic, honest. She understood body language and how othters worked and their intentions. The one thing this book has going for it is that it’s NOT a “she was a bet!” plot (even though, confusingly, it seems like it’s setting that up). From the start, the heroine is aware of the bet. So, there’s no angst or tension about “when will she find out?!” But….there’s also not much angst or stakes about anything! Early in the story, they mutually agree that he’ll be her choice to sleep with. So, the entire flow of the story is odd– no tension, and not much plot. Just the characters awkwardly orbiting around each other, after they’ve agreed that they’ll have sex. There is some alright dirty talk, but it feels sudden and random, like this story threw it in Just Because. I felt like I was missing so much context for the heroine’s behavior. We’re told that her upbringing was toxic, but we’re not given specifics. She’s still got a good relationship with her parents AND her church and pastor. That seems bizarre, for somebody who says she has “religious trauma.” She uses that phrase! Wouldn’t she want to break away from people and institutions that gave her “trauma?!” I need to know why she feels that she has “religious trauma” but she somehow DOESN’T feel that it comes from her parents or her pastor. Who was telling her to do purity culture, then, if it wasn’t them? Or, if it WAS them, then why isn’t she breaking away from them? None of this makes sense! Their arrangement will just be an exchange of services. He’ll let her tell the world the campus player took her virginity, and she’ll give him the opportunity he’s been waiting years for.

Skyler Mason, a devoted reader of romance novels, brings her passion for the genre to life in “Shame.” Known for her ability to craft compelling stories with strong heroines, Mason delves into the depths of human emotions and delivers a tale that will leave readers longing for more. Characters Faithless is a complicated story. I expect many of you will LOATHE Mark, but I also expect some of you to pity him. Whitney cannot keep doing this. They have already broken their vows. Now it is time to break their marriage off. But when she tells him the decision she’s made, his reaction is not what she was expecting. Even after it all, even though he loathes her, he refuses to just let her go. Travel and tell no one, live a true love story and tell no one, live happily and tell no one, people ruin beautiful things. He mopes and gets some insightful advice from grandma. Then h gets some insight from her sisters fiancé who knows H well. H gets help from a friend to show h a video of him trying to explain himself and tell her more truth about how dishonest he’d been with her, specifically things she didn’t know he’d been dishonest about. He specifically references wanting to embarrass his grandpa with the TikTok live they had planned BUT doesn’t name specifics so she knows that this isn’t about that for him. This works for some reason and she agrees to meet him to talk. This duet is connected to the “Purity” series, since Whitney and Mark are Cole’s parents in “Purity”. I looked past the manwhore/virgin combo bc the author was saying what a huge grovel it had.....there was literally no grovel. Half the book the heroine is already aware he is manipulative anyways. It just had no tension or stakes. She forgave the one infraction he did that she didn't know about almost immediately. If this was an epic grovel than romance books are dead to me 😂
