About this deal

In addition to the standard type included in the kit, more modern 2.2-inch standard wheels can also be installed. While based on the original model, each part has been enhanced and modernized to meet the requirements of the latest RC systems & power sources. These are the classic Kyosho electric buggies originally designed by Akira Kogawa according to what I could find online (years may be wrong): Equipped with +2mm offset rear wheel hub. Wide tread setting is available when combined with the included 1mm spacers.

Each component has been faithfully designed and manufactured based on the specifications of the championship winning machine. Soft front and rear tires are included for racing performance. Inner sponges are also built into the front tires and deliver powerful grip and control. I have two 30 plus year old Kyosho RC cars one is an Optima that was a chain drive that has been swapped over to a belt drive, and a Ultima that has a graphite chassis with a front red aluminum nose piece that the front steering is screwed onto. I have seen some very nice picture of old Kyosho cars on this forum and that is what I am aiming for with my cars!!! Maybe one day I will get a grandson that is not destructible as my sons were well still are, and I can pass these cars to him one day Gunmetal anodized aluminum motor guard is laser-printed with the Kyosho 60th anniversary logo, which is exclusive to the special limited-edition model. In place of the mini steering servo that was fixed with double-sided tape, the modern version of the ULTIMA uses a servo mount compatible with modern low-profile servos that are popular today. The shape of the servo saver arm has also been changed. Yes I know they are old but both are in good shape! I found the trunk they were stored in for years after cleaning out the shop after the Beachi creek forest fire he in oregon. So i got to thinking about updating both of them??? Opened the B bag and prepared the upper rods. 21.50mm is what the manual recommends and I'm pretty close. Actually, the word on those were that they worked like crap and didn't last long before the gear got chewed up. I don't think you'll find a single positive review of those clutch bells.

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Kyosho, we announce the release of the 1987 World Championships winning Joel Johnson replica Ultima!i do not or will not race the Ultima or my Optima just to go out and play a little bit the motors I have are brushed motors and are old but still work they have all been rebuilt many times! From what i have read between brushed and brushless the brushless motors This kv motor thing is kind of stumping me!! I like good old USA RPM"s you know like the 427 Chevy Rat Motors like all good things I got Married and these cars got well stored the new wife said to sell them! " Your to old to be playing with kids stuff !! " are fist son got old enough so I gave them to him! Well he was not very kind to these cars and when he broke them ULTIMA has been faithfully recreated, with component upgrades for compatibility with modern power sources.

Thank got for having you own computer so you can hide what you buy from your wife Ya well I am old enough I don't care how loud my wife BARKS now besides she is getting new carpet but I got to pay for it !! so she can bark all she wants to!!!! I burned the dog house down!!! What with all of the rumours of Kyosho restructuring and the possibility of the Legendary Series being scrapped, I feared that the Turbo Optima would be the last one that we would see. Included motor guard (was only available as optional upgrade on the original ULTIMA) is made from A6061T6 material and delivers increased durability. Resin wing mount provides choice of 2 height settings and angle can be set between 3°- 6° with shims. Previously made from polycarbonate, the resin wing delivers improved crash resistance. In addition to white, there are 5 color options to add extra style to your machine. The rear wing is solid ABS plastic. The vintage one is polycarbonate and has a slightly different shape.I fully agree, and as you mention the RC10 versus the (Turbo) Scorpion, I'd like to add that a Scorpion actually won the (rather inofficial) ROAR World Championship against RC10 prototypes/preproduction carss at the Anaheim Convention Center in 1984. The Scorpion was admittedly very heavily modified with aftermarket parts, if I remember correctly, with 1/8 scale Kyosho dampers, Holiday Buggy rear tires on CRP aluminum wheels and a lot of other CRP parts. Gear module has been changed to 48-pitch from the original model’s 8-pitch to deliver reduced drive loss. In addition to the newly designed 46 nylon 57T 1st gear, all other gears are upgraded to the sintered metal gears from the OPTIMA. Upgrade with optional diff OTW101 to improve driving feel. The front skid on the carbon chassis improves clearance over surface gaps while front caster angle setting optimizes handling characteristics. Rear gearbox is equipped with ball differential that produces traction stability without affecting road grip. I'd say they's an evolution change just between them. The Turbo Scorpion sat at the top of the trailing arm/metal suspension era. On the right surface, in good hands it could still hang with the RC10, but the RC10's design was still clearly the way forward (from a performance perspective). The Ultima on the other hand, was Kyosho's step toward making a car more in line with the RC10. The RC10 was completely dominant in the US until the Ultima came out. The Ultima remained its only real competition until the JRX2 was released.
