About this deal

Nikki Maxwell has never been popular but now she’s started at a new school, she’s hoping to leave her old dorky ways behind.

It was a PARTY PLANNING book based on my FAVE reality TV show, My Very Rich and Trashy Life! Chloe and Zoey said it was an early birthday present that I could use to plan my party. Now Nikki must either cancel the party or find a way to pay for it. Complications abound when she also has to decide to stay with her friends and Brandon over the summer or go on a trip to Paris. What’s a girl to do?This spin-off series focuses on Maxwell "Max" Crumbly, the character introduced in Tales from a Not-So-Perfect Pet Sitter and, also written in diary format, his life in middle school.

One of the World Book Day 2015 Authors Rachel Renee Russell is a lawyer who prefers writing children's books to legal briefs. She lives in Aldie, Virginia. OMG! Nikki’s birthday party is going to be beyond awesome! Her BFFs are planning a SUPERcool pool party, with a cake, a DJ, and the perfect invitations. Organizing a big party for one hundred people is easy, right? UMMM wrong! All the kids laughed and cheered because they thought it was all part of his very funny clown act. But I was SO upset, I couldn’t eat any of my birthday cake.

About Rachel Renee Russell

Audiobooks for books 1 and 2 were released on September 28, 2010. [3] The Misadventures of Max Crumbly spinoff [ edit ] a b Cavna, Michael (21 May 2015). " 'Dork Diaries': The book empire built one awkward moment at a time". The Washington Post . Retrieved 23 August 2022. I have two daughters. My younger daughter, Nikki, helps with illustrations. I am also looking forward to adopting 3 children in the near future. Happy to report I liked this one a lot more than I liked the last one. If you ignore the cringy fortnite references, it was really enjoyable. It felt like the good old days when the series was just starting with Nikki and her friends doing crazy stuff that would get them arrested.

Welcome to Nikki Maxwell’s aDORKable world in the thirteenth book in the mega-selling Dork Diaries series – now with over 45 million copies in print worldwide! I loved this series first books. Books 1-6 are all amazing. 7, 8 and 9 are also really worth the read. But something just happened around book 10. It's like if Barbie were in book form, she'd be books 10-13. At least that's the vibe I get. Maybe I'm just getting too old for these books (I'm in my last year of junior high). The problem is I have no idea what happened with this series. The earlier books are so good and they slowly became...this. I enjoyed it well enough, but it's like 'problem. problem solved. problem. problem solved. problem. oh, wait that wasn't a problem at all!' repeat cycle. This book was confusing, slightly weird and the story isn't whole. I sound like I'm just saying," The old Dork Diaries were better!" and theywere in my opinion. But if this is the way Rachel Renee Russell wants her books to go, I'll stop ranting. Her books, her choice. I think she's changed the books' target demographic to much younger and I don't have a problem with that. If I can't enjoy these books anymore, that's my headache.

One More Chapter!

When her mum says it’s too expensive, soon it’s looking like Nikki’s dream party will be a total dorky disaster – cringe! Can Nikki and her BFFs come up with a plan to save the day, or will there be major birthday drama?! With a HUGE global fanbase, Dork Diaries is the perfect series for fans of Lottie Brooks, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Tom Gates. Setting…. The setting of this book is in a lot of places. One place is Nikki’s school. A few other places are Nikki’s house and the zoo. The zoo is wear she had to go to the dance at dressed in a rat costume. Bacle, Ariana. "Summits nabs rights to 'Dork Diaries' book series." Entertainment Weekly. Mar. 25, 2014

So today I planned to break the news to Chloe and Zoey that I’ve decided NOT to have a birthday party. Sorry! But if I dramatically dashed out of the royal ball at midnight in a glamorous, enchanted gown and lost my beautiful glass slipper, I’d step right in a pile of DOG POOP! I’m obviously suffering from a very serious and debilitating medical condition called CBPP, or CRUDDY BIRTHDAY PARTY PHOBIA. There’s no character development and “SQUEEE 😃!!”, which was kinda cute for the first few books, is really annoying me now. I understand that catchphrases can be important in the continuity of a series but I would have liked to have seen some new ones added to the ones that have been used for 13 books now. I’m also over Nikki throwing up in her mouth a little; she did it four times in this book alone. The eighth book, Tales of a Not-So-Happily Ever After, won the 2015 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work – Children award. [12] Film adaptation [ edit ] I’m STILL freaked out about my nightmare, and it keeps replaying in my head like a bad movie. I was covered from head to toe in so much frosting, I felt like a HUMAN cupcake ! For once, my life will be DRAMA FREE!! WOO-HOO 😃! Not likely! This is Nikki we’re talking about. She still hasn’t decided if she will be spending two weeks in Paris (all expenses paid) or going on tour with her band (you know, totally normal people problems), she’s annoyed by her sister’s culinary mash ups and freaking out about whatever potential disaster may unfold during the birthday party her two best friends are planning for her.
