About this deal

Or share your GPS data with passengers in the cabin so they can follow the flight on their own iPads.

Bad Elf is brewed by Peter Scholey, master brewer for the late and much-lamented Brakspear Brewery of Henley-on-Thames, England. I bought this to go with my iPad and Sky Demon navigation software and it works perfectly and is very easy to connect and it is fast. The plan is to work with our GIS guys to develop the features etc, load it on a tablet (TBD) and then bluetooth the Bad Elf unit. So, if plugged into a decent USB car charger, with the supplied micro-USB lead (or a micro-USB 12v charger) it will provide power to the iPhone. However, the accuracy at best will be like 5m, while my Android phone, for instance, might get 3m accuracy.

Closest I've gotten is screenshotting the app when the accuracy is reasonably low, which obviously is not going to work for serious use. Given that it seems to have a fondness for thinking it's considerably off to one side when it's moving, and it loses the signal far more easily than other GPS units, I can't recommend it. I might use it again in an extremely crowded anchor field but I don’t think it will make me sleep better. The app also supports purchasing and loading Flex Tokens into the hardware for standalone use of higher-accuracy features and correction sources.

Whilst it won't be the answer for anyone wishing to use apps such as Google Maps that require access to mobile data, you can always use a MiFi or other mobile data terminal if you wished.Truth be told, there's near to three pounds of fresh hops goes in every barrel of this treasured brew.

If you require an RTK survey-grade rover for use more than 30 to 40 days a year, consider the Extreme bundle. b) I used to use an anchor buoy every time we anchored (a Swiss Tech high quality expensive one with a spring-loaded roll inside). iSailor Support, I just sent you those files from the Bad Elf app, but I may not have been clear about my iSailor experience with them. This is the free companion utility app for the Bad Elf Flex and Bad Elf Flex Mini -- our flexible, intuitive, and affordable survey-grade GNSS receivers. Unless there are interventions (such as a subscription service providing corrections) there is generally very little you can do to improve your accuracy. When it works, it can get a slightly better fix than an iPhone GPS (about 1-3 meters better accuracy). Join us in this beginner's guide to Bad Elf Laser Offset Solution, a powerful workflow for tree and utility surveys.

I've had this nearly a year, and tried to get answers out of Bad Elf several times, without much success. We didn't want to launch yet another generic external Bluetooth GPS receiver like those on the market today - so we're not. I don’t know when it will happen but it could be a neat feature (if marine apps learn to take in 0183 over BT the way they do over WiFi). I’m not saying that those accuracy figures seen on the Bad Elf GPS Pro are absolutely true — without a physical reference point, a GPS can only estimate its own positional precision, right?Because most of my tracks are recorded in a car, and they can be overlaid onto maps to see how well the tracks match with the roads. The Flex Mini locates features that are too numerous to be mapped by traditional methods, such as utility poles, fire hydrants, or stormwater drains. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Because the receiver is Apple approved, when connected, it intercepts GPS communication to any location aware application seamlessly. We plan to add support for all non-iOS devices (PC, Mac, Android, etc) over Bluetooth SPP profile in the next 1-2 app/firmware updates.
