My favourite shade of them all, this bright hot pink is my perfect pink, and fills the gap missing in my Maybelline Matte Ink collection because they have yet to produce such a vibrant hot pink.

You need to apply several layers, but this suits me just fine since the lipstick doesn't dry out quickly and I can adjust it. If I was going to a special event where I thought it would look nicer to pull the Bourjois out of my bag for reapplication, compared to Maybelline’s plastic white-lidded Matte Ink, I’d probably opt for the Bourjois Velvet Inks purely for ~* aesthetics*~. I'm happy with the lipstick, although it can fade off after eating, but the funniest thing is that no cleanser can remove it. Start applying colour from the outer corners of the lips and bring into the centre of the upper and lower lips to leave a flawless lip finish, bursting with colour.When you want a precise lipstick with intense matte colour that lasts long and feels light, just one swipe of Rouge Velvet The Lipstick will give your lips up to 24 hours of full-on glamour. To be fair, there isn’t a huge difference between them, so I think it might come down to personal preference and how the formula performs on your lips, as a person’s body chemistry can make a big difference in how products perform for them compared to other people. The formula itself is very similar during application to the Bourjois Velvet Matte Rouge Edition lipsticks I mentioned before.

I use it as a base for long-lasting liquid lipstick (tried it with different shades of purple-brown and red Relui 02). Shade 07, dusty rose, is brighter than it should be for a nude color, but it's almost the same as in the pictures and swatches. Bourjois with over 150 of make-up expertise and Parisian heritage continues to invent and design innovative, products that simplify beauty. I bought the red one and it has a taste similar to blood, slightly metallic, but there is no strong smell, just a faint one. The lipstick dries out the lips, like any other matte one, but I can't say that it creates a matte effect, it is slightly glossy.

In all other scenarios, where I would expect to one only once, or just drink consistently, or not consume anything at all, I would happily wear these Bourjois Velvet Inks just as often as I would my Maybelline Matte Inks. I’m happy to stick with just my Maybellines for the most part for now, but hot dang that RedBelle shade looks phenomenal on you and I can’t off the top of my head think of any such intense cranberry red in the Maybelline shade range – massive though that is, lol! The brand also pays special attention to the design of product packaging, regularly issuing limited series of products in vintage packaging.
