Having said that, the actors are terrific, with all three of Jordan, Thompson and Majors comfortably transcending the limitations of the script and delivering electrifying performances that keep you glued to the screen. As Creed begins to help him at his gym, Majors’ characterisation isn’t drawn from bouts of histrionics or melodramatic outbursts but from a quiet seething inner turmoil that’s not quite rage but something…else.
