About this deal

The durable textured surface is impervious to dust, grit and dog hairs and also resistant to grease and oil. It fits the boot perfectly when the boot floor is in the lower position (I have the space saver spare) and I'm very pleased with it. If you're looking for a totally waterproof boot, then get one with a membrane, but don't expect it to last too long, especially if you want lightweight boots. That said, when moving fast in hot weather one can very easily overload the membrain, pumping out more moisture through your feet than can get out – that means sweaty feet. A gimmick the manufacturer thinks we will want and then proceeeds to tell us it’s something that we need.

Even if you don’t have the absolute warmest zero drop winter boots, there are things you can do to make them cozier. Sharing your medical reason for wanting/needing Gore Tex boots may help people when they consider footwear options to discuss with you. Keep in mind “Gore-Tex®” is a trade name but is generally used for a waterproof/breathable membrane, just like “Kleenex” is used for a facial tissue. The Tracker Snow is the best option for winter, but we’ve had a great experience using the Tracker FG as well. Neither of these are waterproof though, but you would be able to waterproof them yourself with a spray protectant.Especially if choosing a wool lined model, you want to wear warm socks, and/or you have extra thick/high volume feet. Lightweight fabric boots are great for warmer conditions but then wet feet are less likely to be a serious issue when its warmer - uncomfortable yes, but not life-threatening. In a previous post ( The Trouble With My Boots) I explained my reticence at spending a fortune on waterproof motorcycle boots that may or may not be waterproof.

I’ve read through all your posts but I’m still very undecided because I’m trying to get a warm chelsea boot that’s good on snow and ice. And by reducing the layers you can create space for including inserts such as rock plates for gnarly paths, or impact absorbing insoles for road walking. Both Justin and I love these boots as a stylish barefoot winter boot that can be worn under dress pants, with jeans, or even leggings and skirts. After a week now of constant rain or wet roads when I remove my boot the smell of wet dog is overwhelming.
