About this deal

Not bad - it's reasonable for a small sound bar, but sub doesn't feel as though it gives as much bass as advertised. Although the Sony HT-S200F has a fairly neutral sound profile, its bass is quite poor and doesn’t reproduce accurately the low punch and thump of bass-heavy music even though it has an integrated subwoofer. configuration won't result in the most accurate and clear representation of surround objects in the soundstage. While it doesn't reproduce a more extended low-bass than some more premium models we've tested, it does have a more extended bass than the Sony. Unfortunately, you won't be able to decode DTS or any of the higher-end formats like Dolby Atmos, which can offer you object-based surround sound experience.

I am really pleased and glad I purchased, it's so easy to set up just plug and play and listen to the clear pure quality sound and a good bluetooth mode also. The Bose 700 can be upgraded with a sub and satellites as the Bose Smart Soundbar 700 with Speakers + Bass Module. On the other hand, the Yamaha ATS-1080 has a Full HDMI In port, which the Sony lacks, and it also supports DTS.However, the Sony has less compression at max volume, so it's better-suited for use in loud parties. On the upside, it can get loud enough for most use cases and it performs well at max volume without compression. The Sony HT-S200F is slightly better than the Sony HT-S100F model, especially thanks to the built-in subwoofer channel, which helps a bit with the bass. On the upside, the soundstage is focused, which is good as objects seem to come from an accurate pin-point location rather than a general area.

Just 1 tip before you disregard it's own remote and that is to deselect power saving modes else it will switch itself off if you haven't adjusted the volume for a while, but other than that it's perfect.Everything is downmixed to stereo and doesn’t feel as real as a discrete surround experience offered by tower speakers. Good sound from just a sound bar on it's own (no separate sub woofer) and easy connection to my mobile to play music from. Unfortunately, it's quieter than the HT-S100F due to its small size and its soundstage is pretty narrow too. The Dolby Duel surround sound system and built in subwoofer is superb and the units size of just under 2ft or 600mm in length will fit on or under most TV stands.
