Cloud Stinger Core also features onboard controls so you can adjust headphone volume from the earcup and a convenient swivel-to-mute mic. Overall, these headphones will be fairly versatile for all music genres and will satisfy most gamers as well. Thanks to the splitter included with the headset, it’s easy to hook up the microphone to devices that use a TRRS connector and devices that have separate connectors for audio output and microphone input. These headphones are made for people who want a simple headset that can work with every console and don’t really care for customization options and controls.
Simply put, if you’re on the hunt for a wireless gaming headset that won’t break the bank, the HyperX Cloud Core Wireless is an easy recommend. However, the shiny back plates with the HyperX logo could get scratched up over time, and the exposed audio cable linking the ear cups is a potential weak point. According to HyperX, the mic features built-in noise cancelling with reasonable sensitivity and response.It would be nice to be included in the HyperX NGENUITY Software to monitor the volume and have a good equalizer though.
