it was seriously so disappointing that SSC did that to his character, but thankfully this spin-off series is making up for that. And this book, while I enjoyed it, suffers from the same complaint I had from the other, earlier books: Hades and Persephone are terrible at communication, and it makes for a frustrating read. I loved Persephone's independent spirit as she built her magic and tried to find her place as Queen of the Underworld.

The author clearly has a passion for this story and for staying true to the details of its origins in Greek mythology while writing it with a modern update. In A Touch of Ruin , you are left wondering where Hades is, especially when Persephone is forced to deal with a trauma she wasn't prepared for. BECAUSE I JUST SPENT HOWEVER MANY HUNDREDS OF PAGES WITH YOU AND YOU CERTAINLY DIDN’T HAVE THE TIME OR DEPTH TO DO SO. Intensely steamy, the fire between them reflected their all consuming love so it never seemed like too much with the sex scenes. I loved Hermes too, and the friendship between him and Hades was everything, I love their interactions, he is the funniest character of them all and I love every line he said in this book.Persephone's relationship with Hades has gone public and the resulting media storm disrupts her normal life and threatens to expose her as the Goddess of Spring. I was intrigued with this engaging romance fantasy world of gods and mortals in a fun reimagined New Greece!
