So, Remi and Brick finally discuss WHY he has rejected her for a decade, WHY he married her BFF, WHY he made out with her and think they were something then ditched town overnight. Sometimes I was incredibly sad for her with how she felt each time he denied her his true feelings, I laughed at the stuff she came out with and I loved her attitude and the way she handled brick. i usually never struggle to pick my opening quote (my fav quote) but i highlighted the shit out of this book i mean i legit LOVED every line and highlighted almost everything so bare with me people.

From the amazing characters to the suspense, this was exciting, entertaining, intense, and all kinds of sexy. It’s interesting how something can be pushed just a touch too far and suddenly seem annoying and ridiculous. When it came to Remington Ford, Brick not only had his hands full with the mischievous Remi, but he couldn’t help his mind from wandering with some… interesting thoughts about her.Yes, the back and forth between them got a little repetitive but the tension between them definitely made up for it. She decides that it is her fault that he feels like she is using him for sex, and would never actually commit to a relationship with him (a relationship he has NEVER once asked her to be in, by the way). I always wanted to read some book by this author, but I guess I should have started with another one. You don’t fall for your brother’s high school sweetheart, your boss’ daughter, or your ex-wife’s best friend.

However, following an attempt on her life she decided that going home to the island was the best way to keep safe. The tension between Brick and Remi was palpable through the pages and just when I thought they would finally give in, I was left with just a tease (but I enjoyed it nonetheless) in a way, it kind of felt a slow burn romance, since Remi and Brick’s had moments where they were so close to doing something more intimate, but then ultimately either something got in the way or more often it was Brick who didn’t want to cross that line. It make Lucy Score 's books unique as I notice a lot of characters share names from famous film characters.For all the times, Brick and Remi were tempted to take their attraction to the next step, Brick was the one who always hesitated because, one, he felt like he couldn’t be the person Remi wanted to be (Brick’s words), and in Brick’s mind the fact that Remi was his brother’s high school sweetheart, Ex wife’s best friend, and boss’s daughter, he felt like it would have been over complicated with Remi. but the h having once been with his brother and him having married her best friend is a little too much keeping it in the family for me. I am not sure that I bought that the H felt he was just being used by the h for sex when he knew how long she’d loved him for.

I mean I’m all for unique/quirky heroines, but you lose me pretty quick when it crosses into “special snowflake” territory.It's a lot of back and forth between the two with Brick being a Alpha who is grumpy but lovable and Remi the red haired pixie who has come back and turned his and her world in its side. So after he screws her into the ground, and walks out of her house telling her that they are over, leaving her naked and on the floor.

Remi and Brick’s attraction/ crush they had for one another wasn’t just something out of the blue, it was something that was present even back when Remi was in high school.After an actual lifetime of him pushing her away and hurting her at every turn, he is somehow carrying around a rage boner at HER? When things finally come together for them, get ready to have a man who knows what he wants and a woman willing to give him everything.
