About this deal

Almost all of the reviews on Board Game Quest are from review copies of a game provided by the publisher. This is one that I can easily play with my daughter just to have fun, or I can play it with the whole family and we can get crazy. The endless amount of ways to win the game makes me keep playing and trying to figure out new strategies each time. I like that I can play a simple game with just my daughter or I can get the whole family together and really go at it with everyone. You may believe that a simple little game like this does not hold much depth to it, but you would be surprised.

If a card you have won is an action card, then the effects are resolved as soon as it is placed in front of you. Important note: an action card’s ability is only ever triggered when you pick it up from the donut row.You and your fellow donut lovers want to eat as many donuts as you can, but there is no sharing with these donuts.

Go Nuts for Donuts (hereafter known as GNfD) is a simultaneous action selection/set collection card game that has players trying to earn the most points by acquiring useful cards (i. Boston Cream — Zero points for first card, five (5) points for second Boston Cream card, zero points for third card, ten (10) points for your fourth Boston Cream card, etc.

I enjoy that players can gain points by collecting a lot of cards or by gaining as few cards as possible. Together with the team at Daily Magic Games, Zachary created a unique twist on set collection card games. The first thing you will need to do is take the deck of donut cards and separate them into different coloured cards.

This box has a lot of empty space and the components could have fit into a smaller box or tin, upping the portability. Of course, if your opponent thinks the same way, you could both be shooting yourselves in the feet and leaving that desired card on the table. The rulebook is excellent and has a very helpful donut guide inside with pictures and explanations of each of the different cards. We would have 4 or more rounds in a row of use just selecting the same card so one player couldn’t get the advantage. It’s a great way of introducing blind bidding/action selection concepts to novice gamers, or for killing time among experienced gamers. The number of Donut cards played per game varies based on the number of players so a game is different each time.
