Her first few chapters leave us with doubts as to Kate’s wisdom and even her commitment to her daughter. Certainly not when the mean girls at Alex’s new school dig up the reason for their move and begin to taunt her with memories she would like to forget. I've read everything that this author has written and I hope Margot Hunt is hard at work on her next book. Ted Demme had the entire cast come to Minneapolis and live together for two to three weeks so that they could bond. It would be difficult (for me) to say that any of them were particularly likeable, even the non-villains were a bit flat in their personality flushing out, however I gobbled them up with the same vigor in which I watch Grey's Anatomy trainwrecking its way though its 19th season.

Kate and her daughter, Alex, make the move from Buffalo, NY to Shoreham, FL following the death of Kate's husband and Alex's father. It's fairly mindless reading, but was enjoyable nonetheless and explores the mean girl trope in both adults and teenagers well.
