Overall ‘A Glasgow Kiss’ is fun, flirty and an easy going read that will be sure to improve a rainy weekend and put a smile on a readers face.I don’t feel that being set in Glasgow added much to the story, there could have been so much more made of it. A Glasgow Kiss, which follows the life of singleton, Zara, and her journey into the weird and wonderful world of online dating, was published on December 14. I found the main character a little too shallow and the language of the book was definitely cruder than I had expected. We all could be Zara, we all can feel her pain and delusion, and on the other hand we all can't help but giggle whenever she finds herself in sticky situations (or in steamy ones! In all the spilling and leaking and splashing, though, there’s humanity and compassion as one girl struggles through shame and self-doubt to find what everyone is looking for: love and a little tenderness. And while the majority of the responses to the book have been from women, quite a few blokes responded too. Cheered on by best friends Ashley and Raj, Zara embarks on a string of dating escapades that are as hilarious as they are disastrous. And I understand that it is refreshing to see a woman struggle with everyday problems like her period or farting when your crush is lying next to you, but this was so over the top.Really worth the money and I am so glad my friend told me about it and the author, Sophie Gravia This book was so funny and I thought it was best book that I have read for a long time. This 30-something Glaswegian wrote A Glasgow Kiss from the collected accounts of her on-line dating experiences and those of her friends. During the party the author also took part in a 30 minute question and answer session where she entertained the audience with excerpts from her own life that didn’t make either of her books!

The story was okay, but I did get a bit fed up of some of the stuff repeating throughout (why does she continually refer to her vagina as fishy? A headbutt or a strike with the head to someone’s sensitive areaMeet Zara Smith: 29, single and muddling her way through life as a trainee nurse in Glasgow.Debut novelist Sophie will share several of the hilarious anecdotes from her best-selling romcom about modern dating. There was moments that did make me giggle, but there was many uncomfortable, cringey to much detail moments that ruined the enjoyment. With 30 fast approaching, she’s determined to do whatever it takes to find love – or at least someone to sext! The NHS nurse and single mum-of-two from Bellshill joined 200 of her friends, family and colleagues at the Corinthian in Glasgow where everyone toasted to her success.

I’ll definitely be recommending it to people who want a fresh contemporary read with a bit of fun thrown in. Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly. She has many a mishap, is far too preoccupied with social media for her own good, and spends an awful lot of time fretting about her looks, her weight, and dating faux pas.
