About this deal

I used 2 Serrano peppers for the hot ones (just to see where the heat level was on the first run) and it turned out great. I put an ordinary picnic table in my front yard, painted it turquoise and invited neighbors, friends, and even strangers to hang out and do life together at the Turquoise Table®. If you tend to cook Mexican- or Southwest-inspired dishes, then you might have used this ingredient before, but if you haven't, you might be scratching your head wondering what it is and what it's used for.

These jalapeños have already been dried via the smoking process which resulted in the dark, and unique smoky flavour which is usually found in Mexican cuisines. Adobo sauce on its own has a kick to it, but when you add the chipotle peppers into the mix it's very spicy.

If your recipe is using the chipotle peppers and the adobo sauce, and doesn’t already have some sort of tomato, you’ll need to some smoked paprika for the smoke factor and tomato for the sauce. I’ve bought so many different kinds of chipotles in adobo over the years, and have never seen lime juice as an ingredient! They’re great thrown into a barbecue sauce you already love or into some mayo to get you to that intersection of spicy and fatty.

Ingredients: water, chipotle peppers, onion, vinegar, tomato paste, iodized salt, dried peppers, sugar, soybean oil and spices.
