Having visited Pikes Hotel since reading the book, I don't think he undersells it at all and from the book you can understand why the island has the reputation it does. Well done Tony fantastic book, like the Wolf of Wall Street before it I hope your story gets made into a film, it would be epic! Recent releases through the Portobello Novella Series have included chick lits ‘DJ Whore’ and ‘DJ Wags: Housewives of House’, both by Jaqi Loye-Brown.I always had a decent sort with me, but that wasn’t an extra cost, I always counted the girls within the running costs. I questioned how much of his recounting of the ‘beautiful women and men’ he ‘bedded’ was actually true. Not sure what i was expecting after listening to this…no doubt that Tony Pike is a legend and has lived a very fruitful life that many would die for! From his early beginnings, to opening the most well known boutique hotel in Ibiza - Freddie Mercury, Grace Jones, George Michael, Kylie, Salt and Peppa - they've all been there and partied with Tony! Unfortunately i found myself getting very bored after the 8 gazillion mentions of how many women he’s slept with, how big and amazing his cock was and his sexual double standards on women that cheated on him.

A very different and interesting autobiography about someone whose lifestyle and vivacity should have made for a much shorter book, but somehow he continued to live through it all. From a successful business life in Australia, and interesting upbringing, his story then turns to Ibiza and the reason he became the man he is remembered for today. HE was the sex-mad playboy who provided a tropical retreat for A-list celebrities to indulge their wildest fantasies. Point being that at the very least you likely know that Harvey spends his summers there, manning the DJ booth on Monday nights in August and September. The books enjoyable and not a taxing read - you get the sense that some things are glossed over with not enough detail for me and I think I was hoping for a more robust dissection of Tony Pikes character and what made him tick rather than a book of anecdotes but none the less, it was an entertaining read and I would recommend for anyone with an interest in celebrity culture and hedonism.

To me Tony Pike comes across as a warm individual with a lot of love to give ,to both men and women of the world,and although I was in Ibiza my one big regret is that I didnt visit Pikes .Despite being written in a somewhat clunky, basic way, and being peppered with crude references told in Tony’s own words, this book is endlessly intriguing. Calming things down involved larking about with Freddie Mercury through the ups and downs of Mr Fahrenheit’s later life, beefing with the local Ibicenco plod until Julio Iglesias put a word in and bringing the now ubiquitous Sunseeker yachts to the island for the first time.
