You also get a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff from Japan like TV commercials, Japanese Cast Auditions, Trailers and animatics. I do respect the show, especially the later episodes, and The End of Evangelion, but it gets bogged down in some melodrama claptrap and I personally couldn’t connect to how much of a whiny soiboy Shinji is. Shinji wants to run away from everything because he struggles to find acceptance; his issues with others is a reflection of his inability to accept himself. While yes, it’s still at 4:3 aspect ratio (black bars on both sides of the picture), the visuals still looks great.
