About this deal

Before Godzilla: Rulers of Earth received its first extension, Chris Mowry planned to end the comic with Biollante acting as the final antagonist. Godzilla and the other Earth monsters would have been brought to Monster Island, only to discover that the island was actually Biollante, who would fight and be defeated by the other monsters. Once the comic was extended, Biollante was relegated to battling Godzilla in the Monster Islands in a single issue. [23]

Trendmasters' Gamera: Guardian of the Universe line includes all of Gamera's enemies from the Showa series except for Barugon. In her final form, Biollante retains all previous abilities, though she does acquire an additional one, which is the ability to spit large quantities of radioactive corrosive sap from her large mouth (the radiation is clearly visible as orange energy spores within the sap stream). Biollante is the only opponent Godzilla fights in the Heisei series who is unable to fly in her standard form. Toho Special Effects Movie Complete Works. villagebooks. 28 September 2012. pp.220–223. ISBN 9784864910132.King of the Monsters was the first main line of Trendmasters' classic Godzilla figures. They were released in 1994 in various retail stores. There were multiple releases of certain characters like Godzilla, Rodan, King Ghidorah, and Mothrain different size ranges. With her weight of 220,000 tons (200,000 metric tons) in her final form, Biollante is the heaviest Toho monster to appear on film, and was the tallest monster at the time. Biollante is not the tallest monster in the franchise either; the Heisei and Monsterverse incarnations of King Ghidorah, Mecha-King Ghidorah, Godzilla Earth, Keizer Ghidorah, Bagan, and the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla are all taller than her, while the final form of Destoroyah, SpaceGodzilla, the Heisei Mechagodzilla, MOGUERA, the Millennium Gigan and Monster X are all the same height as her. At the time of her debut though, Biollante's 120-meter Plant Beast Form was the tallest Toho monster, as well as the first to exceed 100 meters. The 6-inch figures either had sound or no sound at all included with the figures. Included with them are collector cards. The Kmart exclusives come with tiny army men and a tank, but left out the collector card, while the regular sound versions come with the army men, the tank, and a collector card. Despite the size classification being 6 inches, some of the toys range from 5-6 inches. The 6-inch figures are: King of the Monsters 40th Anniversary Set (includes Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, Rodan, King Ghidorah, Battra, Mecha-King Ghidorah, Gigan, Mothra, and Biollante)

Scaling wise, Biollante comes up a bit short. I’d say she’s the worst when it comes to scale out of all of Trendmasters smaller figures. She stands smaller than the rest, so if you were hoping to have her munch on Godzilla’s head, it won’t happen here. Articulation In an interview with Michael Dougherty and Ken Watanabe, the former revealed that if he could direct another Godzilla movie, he revealed he would like to include Biollante in it. [3] Kawakita, Koichi (Supervisor) (1 February 2012). Heisei Godzilla Perfection. ASCII Media Works. p.160. ISBN 978-4-04-886119-9. In the IDW Publishing comic book series Godzilla: Rulers of Earth, Biollante is a creation of the Devonians, an aquatic alien race attempting to conquer the Earth using their army of kaiju. In the novel GODZILLA: Monster Apocalypse, Biollante is hypothesized to be a related species to Godzilla, as both monsters are plant-based and possess similar regenerative abilities.

Super7 Toho ULTIMATES! Wave 1 – Godzilla

Biollante's Flower Beast Form was originally going to look more like a lily, with a gigantic tendril extending out of its center. Hiroshi, Arata, and Shiori carried the regenerating Biollante away once Godzilla arrived to do battle with Mothra. Once they reached the sea, however, Destoroyah rose from the deep. Destoroyah split apart into its Juvenile forms and hunted down and killed the villagers one-by-one, managing to fatally wound Hiroshi, which caused Shiori to drop Biollante's core. Biollante soon took root in the ground and spread her vines around the area. Godzilla arrived and battled Destoroyah, with the help of the badly wounded Mothra. Destoroyah killed Mothra, but Biollante wrapped her vines around him, leaving him helpless while Godzilla blasted his head off with his spiral red heat beam. As Godzilla returned to the sea, a rose bloomed on Biollante's core and her vines began to spread throughout the desolate city. One lone rose bloomed in the streets of Tokyo, symbolizing the hope for the world to be reborn. Kako Yodane (14 April 2014). 華麗なる円谷特撮デザインの世界 ミラーマン☆ジャンボーグA 米谷佳晃デザインワークス 1971〜1973. Kodansha. pp.42–43. ISBN 978-4-06-364953-6.
