About this deal

When the final conflict comes and Kason realises Phoenix and Holden are hooking up, it gets hilarious. I mean, that was so damn absurd, I was just laughing, it was funny, the story was botched already with losing its momentum in the second half, so of course the conflict was even more ridiculous. Overall I really loved this story. I was so curious at its direction due to the unusual start to their story and couldn't be more thrilled, surprised, and elated at how epic their story ended up being. Both Holden and Nix are strong-willed, with huge hearts that make them the perfect balance for the other. I loved this story from beginning to end and cannot wait for the next one!!! Iced Out is a M/M romance featuring rivals entering an enemies to benefits relationship after they realize that every time they hook up, they win their next-day game.

So you thought it was good, huh?" He doesn't turn around; just flips the bird over his shoulder and keeps walking away." I read somewhere that the author hated writing this book, is that right? That's a damn shame, because this conflict was tame and the book could've ended so much better.Holden and Phoenix had a failed one night stand. When Holden takes an interest in Phoenix’s best friend, Kason, the enemies vibes get worse. Pranks ensue on both ends, Phoenix trying to stop Holden from dating his best friend. It’s definitely messy and stupid. If you don’t like mess and these type of shenanigans then just don’t read it. But I found it fun so it worked for me. The push and pull between them was fun. The banter and the sexual chemistry was off the charts. But whereas iced out felt like ONLY sex to me, here the relationship felt real. Through their enemies relationship they got to know one another, their fears and hang ups and who they are as men, so when they finally got together it felt earned to me. I had high hopes going into this because the premise had promised a fun rivalry, heated moments, and delicious angst. Unfortunately, that wasn't really what I got. i'm sorry in advance for how long this review will be, i was just so invested in these characters 😭🩷 My rating is pretty low, so let’s move to the things that didn’t worked out for me in this book. Only at the beginning. These are my thoughts and opinions, so of course not everyone will agree.

So what I’ve been looking forward to was an easy, hot (despite the ice 😬) enemies/rivals to lovers book I could listen to while driving, or while sweating on my sunbed, listening with my eyes closed. There were also a lot of good, fun, sweet times in this story as well. And these two have amazing chemistry together! There is always something so special about characters finding that one person they can be themselves with and just laugh and are just compelled to spill all their secrets to. This was Holden and Phoenix for sure and I’m so happy they got their HEA! I hug him more, tighter and closer than I have in weeks. And it’s the first time in those weeks I’ve actually felt…whole. I will say, I really liked the reveal at the climax, I liked the way Oakley was not let off the hook for what he'd done, because that had been bothering me since the beginning. I liked how hard he had to work for it, how much he longed and yearned for Quinn because I think Quinn really deserved it, and I liked those last few chapters.

I never imagined that drive would lead me to do the unthinkable: falling into bed with my not-so-straight rival.

even though it was driving me nuts that the boys (coughphoenixcough) were keeping things a secret for so long, the sneaking around and what not just like in iced out was super fun. the boys had such great chemistry and banter (one thing i know i can always count on in a ce ricci couple) Ok, confession time: I had been wanting to read a C. E. Ricci book for a while, but when I saw "Performed by Christian Fox and Liam DiCosimo" I hit "buy" so fast it was ridiculous... Regardless, I’m looking forward to the next books in the series even if I expected a different pairing for the next one. This was just LOVELY. It's a true hate to love story that hits you right in the feels. My heart ached for Quinton, who's so rich and yet yearning for so many simple things he's always been denied. For Oakley, who had to carry a legacy on his shoulders while being out on a typically "manly" sport. when she said this book wasnt going to be for everyone damn did i not think that was going to include myself lol.
