About this deal

I expected Red Rabbt to be dark, creepy, and absolutely bonkers, and it turned out to be even better than I expected. If you like horror stories set in the Old (post-Civil War) West, with cowboys, ghosts, ranchers, empowered women, witches, witch hunters, demons, ghouls, shapeshifters, wayward lawmen, sinister towns, people who seem like murderers who aren't, people who don't seem like murderers but are, and MORE, you will probably dig this book. There was Ned and Moses, Rose and Joe Mullins, Rabbit, Tom Goggins, and Benito Cortez. And, those are just the main characters on this wild and crazy ride to kill a witch named Sadie Grace in Riddle, Kansas. These characters are so unique and so lovable. Ned and Moses were my favorites. Their relationship with each other is the true meaning of BFFs for life. They have an honestly amazing connection and friendship. I wanted them to stay together forever riding their horses side by side to whatever adventures they find themselves.

Have you run out of Bill O'Reilly books to read? Are you nostalgic for the Cold War? Well then, we here at Drunk Uncle Publishing have got just the book for you! However, finding myself facing a ten hour flight and a paucity of choice in the airport book stand I decided to give this one a go. Other reviewers (notably the Washington Post and CNN) have commented on the standard of writing, plot contstruction and characterisation in this doorstep of a book so I won't go over any of that ground here. My concern is more pedantic perhaps but for a writer who is concerned to present a plethora of detail in his writing Mr Clancy seems to know almost nothing about life in the UK, where a large part of this book is set. Consider:One aspect I like was the incorporation of the real life assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II into the story, again the reader is firmly placed in 1981. The red rabbits, commonly known as New Zealand red rabbits, originated in the United States in the early 20th century and were bred as a commercial source of meat and fur in California. The exact origin of this species is difficult to trace. At seven weeks every one of the 14 of the energetic rabbits was alive and vivacious. At this age, they weighed 44 pounds. Thinking about these characteristics, reproducing the New Zealand red rabbit will yield great business benefits.

The texture of their fur is pleasant, and you cannot keep your hand off them once you start playing with them. Facts About Red Rabbits: I just know I went into this not knowing what to expect and ended up being thrilled to be taken on an unexpected stolen-carriage-road-trip-from-hell that involved a chaotic neutral witch, giggling demons, and a whole lot of fascinating stories within the story. It’s a fantastic book. New Zealand Red rabbits are generally considered to be a healthy and robust breed, and they don’t have any breed-specific diseases or hereditary conditions you should be aware of. This is not one of Mr. Clancy's better books, and worse, in many respects, it is a watered version of one of his better works. Buy this though if you would like to keep abreast of the series, since the audio performance almost makes this book a thriller. Also, if you have never read any Clancy before, this book will be very readable---even if at the end you are left with the question of "So what's the big deal about Clancy?" Every character in this book added to the story. Not one character felt like they should have been left out or they were not needed. From the second I started reading this book I had to know where it was going. It is fascinating to see genuine witch hunters with real powers. One of the group, Tom Goggins, uses a charm or hex to wake the spirit of a dead man, who then follows the group and meets other ghosts along the way. These supernatural encounters have deeply melancholic vibes, with some not realising they are dead or having any notion how long since they passed on. Ghosts drift in and out of the plot as the group head towards Burden County, with a terrific character only known as the Huntsman playing a bigger role as events move on. Connected to the witch, the Huntsman is a man of few words, but one who oozes threat and danger in every move. Red Rabbit is a raucous, rabble-rousing, road trip from hell and I am here for it. This is another one of those novels that you just can’t quite pin down. It’s a little horror, a little fantasy, a little western…forgive me for being rather obvious, but it’s rather like a witch’s brew: throw a pinch of this, a scoop of that, and a sliver of something-something in the cauldron before stirring it all up and then out comes Red Rabbit, which is epic in scale, cinematic in composition, and a very vivid read. Red Rabbit started out as a 5 star read, but ultimately ended up being a 4.75/5. 0.25 is such a big deduction, I know. Sarcasm aside, the first three quarters of this book flew by. I was engaged from the very first sentence of the very first paragraph. The plot was well paced, the characters were interesting, and I grew attached to and empathized with all the main characters, and there were quite a few of them.
