About this deal

Interlude Man is an oriental woody fragrance made by Pierre Negrin and launched in 2012. Frankincense and myrrh are often added into fragrances to symbolize spiritualism and here, the perfumers sought to make this feel more contemporary by adding in spices and citrus notes. Not for a beginner, no. You have to WANT to understand it, or you won’t. This scent epitomizes the cliché “don’t judge a book by its cover” phrase in every aspect. From the appearance of the bottle into the opening, following through into the mid, and exiting out with its finale; it is an adventure like no other.

The heart includes ivy, which is a strong green note with a refreshingly spicy aspect. The other notes are earthy and woody, all with green nuances, which makes this cologne feel natural and cool. The moss adds a slight bitterness reminiscent of the earthy forest floor. This is a gorgeous amber fougere fragrance for men that is sweet and spicy. It uses a huge amount of diverse fragrance notes giving us a multitude of undertones and nuances that make this a truly captivating scent. It’s the embodiment of strength and sophistication.Made by Bertrand Duchaufour and was launched in 2008.Base Notes: Opoponax, Agarwood (Oud), Myrrh, Patchouli, Cedar, Ambergris, Immortelle, Musk and Oakmoss. Amouage is a luxury fragrance house created in 1983 by the Sultan of Oman. He dreamt of creating a company to preserve the art of perfumery in Oman; they use traditional Middle Eastern ingredients to create authentic fragrances. Traditional ingredients include agarwood, incense, musk, rose, and spices. The inclusion of these notes creates stunning and captivating colognes, which are captured in unforgettably designed bottles. Despite the addition of several warm and sweet notes, this cologne is actually perfect for the warmer and cooler seasons. Spring, summer, and fall are all amazing times to wear this crisp and refreshing cologne. During these months, there really is no going wrong with it either. It does lean slightly more towards being casual, but even formally, it will be great. Overall, this is neither too warm nor too vibrant, making it the perfect cologne for the season-changing months; spring and fall. The combination of citrus, florals, and intense woods make this adaptable so it can be worn any time of day for any occasion. This really is a wonderfully complex scent. The opening is definitely not for the faint of heart; it reminds me of Antaeus at this stage, only 15x the intensity, with an added smokey feel to it. It remains in this stage for an hour and a half (at least) as it starts to melt into another personality in the mid. It begins this by shedding those Antaeus vibes and giving off more of an incense heavy wavelength. Similar to Interlude, but not the same. It holds this way for another 2 hours or so, but it continues twisting and turning as it hasn’t yet finished “developing its fingerprint”. During this time it starts to become sweeter and sweeter. A silky feeling, velvety sweetness begins to emerge, and it is in this latter stage that it absolutely SHINES. Such a vivid, GORGEOUS scent it becomes in the end.

Sunshine Man opens with a fresh and aromatic scent of lavender, supported by a few citrusy notes. Along with these citruses and the lavender is a hint of juniper berry. The juniper is sharp and crisp and almost has a gin-like feel to it. A crisp scent like that also adds to the overall freshness of the scent, ensuring this cologne starts of bright, fresh, and crisp. Overall, this is a fairly versatile cologne, it can be worn all year round but isn’t quite light enough for the summer. It is immensely powerful and can be worn for any occasion, especially a more dressed-up and formal occasion, and during any time of the day; just be careful – a little goes a long way! Amouage Epic Man is an amber woody fragrance released in 2009. It’s the embodiment of luxury as it encompasses rich woody notes, spices, and incense; it’s smoky and aromatic and is all-around a stunning fragrance. Made by Randa Hammami, this cologne has been a favorite among Amouage fans. I spent the day with Myths Man and still don’t know what to think of it as a whole. I guess the fact that I *am* even thinking about it is a commendation of sorts, although usually I don’t go out of my way to do so when it comes to perfume. As Myths Man moves into its heart, things improve: there are subtle rose and orris notes mixing with elemi (the rose is cool and creamy and provides a plush "red carpet" for the lovely entrance of incense ash). Myths Man has one of the best (and most subtle) incense aromas out there; it possesses a perfect autumn smokiness. Too bad the extreme dry down smells like a stolid men's cologne of the 1960s (old-fashioned).As we move into the heart of the fragrance, the amber becomes prominent and is arguably the most powerful note in the cologne. It’s aromatic and warm with powdery undertones and ignites a feeling of nostalgic calm amongst the citrus and spices. In addition to the amber, the heart includes a slight smokiness from the incense along with a sweet balsamic edge. Dia Man is one of the few Amouage fragrances that will actually be perfect for the warmer months. The soapy and refreshing scent goes great with the warmer temperatures, and thanks to the warm influences, you can also wear this one during the cooler months as well. Throughout those seasons, this one is great for casual wear, but it truly excels in a formal setting. In the dry down, this fragrance becomes slightly sweeter and creamier. Notes of tonka bean and vanilla are both appearing, adding their sweet and creamy scents. They do not, however, overtake the aromatic and boozy scent that’s already established. They just make sure the cologne dries down into something smooth and enjoyable. Darkness into light. You have to feel it to understand.
