About this deal

It's especially important to regularly apply an emollient to your hands and face, as they're exposed to the elements more than any other part of your body. AproDerm ® Emollient Cream is free from SLS, parabens, chlorocresol, fragrances and colours, these excipients are recognised potential irritants and sensitisers, as listed by MIMS 2, which can be found in many creams. They can aggravate already sensitive skin which is why such excipients are absent from AproDerm ® Emollient Cream hence it can be considered that the risk of a reaction to a patient will be greatly reduced thus aiding compliance. Forms a long-lasting, breathable barrier which helps moisturise the area to preserve the skin barrier function

Mix a small amount (around teaspoonful) of leave-on emollient or soap substitute in the palm of your hand with a little warm water and spread it over damp or dry skin. Triple action, protects, moisturises and conditions. Protects the skin against the irritant effects associated with nappy rash and incontinence, promoting healing whilst moisturising and conditioning the skin Emollients are moisturising treatments applied directly to the skin to soothe and hydrate it. They cover the skin with a protective film to trap in moisture. AproDerm ® Emollient Cream can be used instead of soap ( soap substitute). Apply to your skin whilst showering to clean and moisturise at the same time. You may need to experiment with different emollients or try a combination. For example, you may decide to use a cream during the day and an ointment at night. How to wash with emollientsThey help prevent patches of inflammation and flare-ups of these conditions. Types of emollients Lotions Frequency of application will be determined by severity of the condition and whether more than one emollient is being used. As a general guide it is recommended that AproDerm ® Emollient Cream is applied as often as required as well as during and after bathing to help alleviate the drying effects of bathing and used as a daily soap substitute. If you have eczema or psoriasis continual use of your AproDerm ® emollient is recommended to reduce the risk of flare-ups, even after your skin has improved. Safe to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding as AproDerm ® Colloidal Oat Cream is unlikely to have any ill effects when used as directed, however if you are unsure feel free to talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Use a clean spoon or spatula to remove emollients from a pot or tub. This reduces the risk of infections from contaminated pots. Risk of slippingLooking for an ointment that can help prevent skin damage and provide intense moisturisation? Look no further than AproDerm Ointment! This unique ointment helps control skin flare ups due to eczema or dermatitis and forms a barrier layer that keeps moisture in, whilst keeping infections and irritants out. AproDerm ® Gel can be used before bathing (known as pre-bathing) to protect the skin from the drying effects of bathing, as well as after bathing to skin that is almost dry to trap in moisture. AproDerm ® Colloidal Oat Cream should not be prescribed if the patient has a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the listed ingredients. AproDerm Gel is a highly moisturising gel, without the greasiness of an ointment, which actively draws and retains moisture within the skin and provides a protective barrier to help reduce dryness and irritation. It is also an effective pre-bathing emollient so can be applied to skin prior to bathing to prevent it from drying out even further, whilst protecting it from the irritant effects that can be caused by washing and bathing products such as soaps, shower gels and shampoos. Patients should also be reminded to continue applying AproDerm ® Ointment once their skin has improved to prevent the risk of flare-ups.
