About this deal

Where was the suspense??? And, the psychological thriller part??? The constant is she crazy or not was pretty obvious. It was easy to figure out what happened to Lucy...and the later "twists". This isn’t a roller-coaster ride, rather than a thriller I’d call it psychological-suspense. Even rather than fast-paced with a pervading sense of menace, an uneasiness that quietly builds. Beatrice the successful level-headed older sister arrives from New York to unravel the mystery surrounding Tess’s death. Her flighty artistic kid sister who in her own condescending and slightly superior fashion she deeply loved. I thought "The Sister" was a good psychological thriller. It was easy to follow as it alternated between past and present. The story line and characters were interesting. However, there were a few times that Grace REALLY annoyed me. She would be overly paranoid about some things but didn't seem to notice things that seemed glaringly obvious. A few of the decisions she made really baffled me, but it wasn't enough to dissuade me from continuing on. I did have a few questions but still felt the book ended pretty strong. Think "Single White Female" meets "Fatal Attraction" and you have "The Sister". Although I did enjoy this book, I gave it 3 stars because I felt that there were some plot holes in the story. Also, I felt that the ending was a little rushed or maybe that Jensen was trying to cram too much into too little time left in the book. I'm not really sure.

Lee, an experienced observer of North Korea, focuses here on a relatively recent figure in the dynasty, Kim Yo-jong, the younger sibling of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who caused a media frenzy among the South Korean and Western media when she appeared as the country’s representative at the 2018 Winter Olympics across the 38th parallel in Pyeongchang. Reporters invested her with an unwarranted sense of glamour, no doubt because she was spirited and reasonably photogenic in comparison to her much-derided roly-poly brother. I know that I am bereaved but not diminished by your death. Because you are my sister in every fiber of my being. And that fiber is visible-two strands of DNA twisted in a double helix in every cell of my body-proving, visibly that we are sisters. But there are other strands that link us, that wouldn't be seen by even the strongest of electron microscopes...We are conjoined by hundreds of thousands of memories that silt down into you and stop being memories and become a part of who you are." I am not sure why Abi didn't just leave...period. There was no incentive in my opinion to keep her there.Nathan realises his loved ones are at risk as secrets are exposed and a surprising link is revealed between past events and the present.

It seems that Charlie had a half-sister that she never knew about, Anna. Before long, Anna has infiltrated Grace's life. The two seem to have far more in common than Charlie. Exactly how much they have in common is something that Grace could not have guessed. It’s very obvious that all isn’t as it seems, but boy, when Grace does get to the bottom of everything that is going on, it certainly took me by surprise! Sister is a psychological thriller from the viewpoint of Beatrice. Beatrice communicates to her missing sister Tess through a letter or diary-like entries. The plot is centered around her attempts to find out the truth about Tess's disappearance.

I really couldn't get a handle on Grace. Certain characters saw her as a strong person and I wasn't seeing it at all. The whole book shows a person who is not handling her grief at all, and was also scared to be abandoned by anyone, and obsessed with her best friend.A hundred years earlier, Kitty McBride, daughter of an Edinburgh clergyman, is given the opportunity to travel to Australia as the companion of the wealthy Mrs McCrombie. In Adelaide, her fate becomes entwined with Mrs McCrombie’s family, including the identical, yet very different, twin brothers: impetuous Drummond, and ambitious Andrew, the heir to a pearling fortune. Bits and pieces are revealed as the story flips between “then” and “now,” but getting to the truth is painful. A lot of the story felt forced, almost like things were conveniently thrown in just to keep the plot-line going.
