I even paired this amp with a Behringer UM-300 but the results were not much better. Some metal tones were clearly better with this combo but it gets too fuzzy very easily. A guitar amplifier this small and light can sit at the top of your desk easily. That’s an important factor. I/O section I will probably restore this since I do not need any more gain on the clean channel and I am not sure I like the change in tone. Firstly, this amp isn’t made for live performances. To be honest, it’s pretty useless for playing in front of an audience. The reason is very simple – there is no footswitch included. You’ll have to manually press the button to switch between clean and overdrive channels, so it’s not useful during gigs.

I just love the small pathfinder. With a few mods and a cab it sounds very nice. Plus it's a DIYer's dream, being a full old-school circuit with a transformer PSU and all through-hole parts.

Everyone agreed that this wasn’t the loudest amp out there, but most use it for playing in a single room of the house. As a practice amp, customers think this is an excellent buy for the features and price. Some users also found the larger size and weight to be something they liked.

This complicates how the gain structure works. And makes it more difficult to rework the thing if we want to add some decent sounding overdrive or distortion. Especially for home volumes, since there is not enough signal level to clip even low-voltage-drop diodes. I will have to see this as a chain eventually. I think that this amp will be a great choice for both beginners and more advanced players. Considering its price, it’s definitely within the reach of complete amateurs who don’t want to spend too much on new gear.
