About this deal

Power button: this one turns the machine on and off. When you turn the EasyPress 2 on, it will revert to the last settings used. Different color choices (purely cosmetic—this in no way affects the quality of your heat transfer). Peel the carrier sheet: One thing you want to pay attention to, in case you use a different brand of iron-on vinyl, is if it’s cold, warm or hot peel. While it might seem like it’s just a silly detail. Some kinds of heat transfer vinyl work better when peeled off at a certain temperature.

The first step is to apply the first—or bottom layer—of your design to your materials. To do this, using the recommended temperature setting for your materials, but instead of following the recommended time, cover your design with your EasyPress and apply firm pressure for 3 seconds. Use both hands and put some muscle into that pressure!

If you don’t want to learn the process for yourself, no worries! You can skip ahead and just grab my project – the work will already be done for you! You can view my project here.) You could also use a folded towel on a flat surface with your project on top of it. When you apply the EasyPress, the raised seam or zipper areas will flatten out since the towel material has a bit more give. 3. Use a folded towel as a filler Size: The original Easy Press comes in one size, 9×9. The EasyPress 2 comes in three different sizes – 6×7, 9×9, and 12×10.

Both the EasyPress and the EasyPress 2 will up the quality of your designs. They have very similar capabilities. Cricut has a very handy guide outlining the differences between the EasyPress and the EasyPress 2, as well as a traditional iron and a lower cost heat press. Plug and turn your EasyPress 2 on, set your temperature: Depending on what you are using you need to set the temperature accordingly, for this sample project the temperature should be 290°F (or 145°C) and the times to 30 seconds. This bag, with all of its multiple layers, was super easy to create with the larger sized EasyPress 2, especially since I was using foil iron on. Iron on foil burns very easily and you have to be careful not to “overcook” it. With a smaller press, you have to move it around, and you may overlap areas that you already pressed. A single press ensures an even heating time on all parts of the design and ensures the foil doesn’t burn. Note: Ensure your design is within the maximum recommended design sizes for using Cricut EasyPress Mini with iron-on (4" W x 3.5" L or 1.7" W x 5.25" L).Cut your design: First, you need to cut your design and weed it, remember that you need to mirror the design before cutting if you are using heat transfer vinyl for your project. in this case, I am going to share the sample project that comes with the Easypress 2, so I didn't have to cut it and the carrier sheet comes with the shape of the graphic, so there is no weeding to do. Preheat your surface: Once your EasyPress has reached the desired temperature, it will beep. Now you can press your surface for about 5 seconds. This will get rid of all wrinkles and smooth your surface if you sill see wrinkles, press again for another 5 seconds. Once you think about it, it makes sense because you don't want any wrinkles or moisture before pressing, and preheating takes care of that for you. While I can still press them, Ia m not sure if I get the *best* transfer, because of the seams of the onesie, I think that with a smaller press, I could get way better results.

I’m going to be totally honest with you—if you only do a few heat transfer or iron-on projects a year, you probably don’t need an EasyPress or EasyPress 2. But if you do a lot of crafting work, this bad boy will up your quality while also saving you time. And if you sell your products, you need a heat press to ensure uniform, professional results across your projects. Because you won't have to manually press down with those and some clamp allowing you to multitask while pressing, making it faster and more convenient for you.If you are a serious crafter, chances are you are already considering one and all I have to say is GO FOR IT! When selecting the size, think about the kind of projects you will be making the most and choose the size that would make those projects easier. Cricut originally released the EasyPress in 2017, and it came only in a 9” x 9” machine. The company then release the EasyPress 2 in 2018, which comes in three different sizes: 6” x 7” (ideal for smaller items like baby clothes), 9” x 9” (ideal for everyday use), and 12” x 10” (ideal for larger format projects). The EasyPress 2 heats up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit which makes it perfect to use with infusible ink products since you need constant, spread-up high heat for the transfer to be successful. If you are considering an EasyPress 2 to start an online tee business, I would actually encourage you to look for a professional heat press. If you are starting to do more gifts that require heat transfers, or are dipping your toes in to selling tees, the EasyPress is a good stepping stone into professional heating press equipment.
