Did the patient accept this feeding well? Does the food appear to be tolerated by the patient’s GI tract? Developed by an expert panel, including exotic animal veterinarians, emergency clinicians, and nutritionists, EmerAid Intensive Care Herbivore ® is a high-fiber, semi-elemental diet designed to meet the needs of the critically ill herbivore. Oat grain and wheat flour are readily digestible complex starches that provide energy when commensal microbial function might be impaired. EmerAid Herbivore Nutritional Solutions can be fed to rabbits, rodents like the guinea pig and chinchilla, and plant-eating reptiles, such as iguanas, all tortoises, and some turtles.

Feed EmerAid Intensive Care Carnivore to carnivores and insectivores like ferrets, raptors, amphibians, snakes, and many lizards. Our feline nutrition for critical care is developed by critical care veterinarians and nutritionists. Cats have specific nutritional requirements, and the precise needs of the critical canine patient reflect these nutritional differences.

Do not cross contaminate with scoops used with non-EmerAid foods. Contamination can cause harmful bacterial growth. The 400 g (3.5 oz) pouch and 2 kg (5 lb) tub come with a red scoop that has both large (1 tablespoon) and small (1 teaspoon) ends. EmerAid Sustain Herbivore is a high-fiber, recovery diet designed to support herbivorous mammals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas, recovering from critical illness, suffering from chronic medical conditions, or underweight. Sustain Herbivore is also designed to transition the debilitated herbivore from intensive care nutrition to normal feeding. EmerAid also provides a high level of nutritional flexibility for the veterinary healthcare team.
