About this deal

Moving on to play features, out front you can park the sled in the covered parking stall, and open the front door to let in some crisp winter air. I have to point those amazing Christmas lights out again, too. They really look functional. The first instruction booklet covers the first two bags of parts, and includes everything that isn’t part of the club house structure itself. It has the Christmas tree, a selection of gifts, a sleigh, a scarf-wearing elf and Brixen. These builds don’t really interact with the club house at all, so it could be a good opportunity to share the work around with a bit of family building. You know, if this set wasn’t meant just for adults. (I’m almostdone complaining about that.) The Elves have a tendency of sleeping in and being lazy, which is why the leader, Galadriel is equipped with a megaphone to wake them up.

I love how incredibly simple, yet poignant this design is, especially for us oldies who may remember actually using a desktop computer like this. The design of the Elf Club House is immediately recognizable as belonging to the Winter Village, thanks to the iconic sloped snow-blanketed roof and inclusion of the chimney. Here’s how it works, you press the lever, and a waffle gets dropped into a pan, which you can then tip out. This just filled me with so much joy about how random this is, yet it fits the overall playful theme of this set so well. The use of the LEGO Movie 2 stars as the umm, star that adorns the tip of the Christmas tree is also a great choice, although it seems a teensy bit oversized for the tree.

Explore your favorite family Christmas traditions with this delightful building challenge. Build the quaint Elf Club House (10275) then explore all its cozy holiday details as you unwind with this hands-on project. If you’re a Ghostbusters fan, we’ve got just the thing for you – the LEGO Ghostbusters ECTO-1 car, a LEGO model car kit for adults! Bust the stress out of everyday life and indulge in some quality me-time as you build a LEGO version of the converted 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance based on the Ghostbusters: Afterlife movie. The ECTO-1 Ghostbusters car features working parts: a trapdoor, a ghost trap, an extending seat, plus cool details from the original car, such as the iconic Ghostbusters logo. The interiors are tiny, but they managed to squeeze in some furniture, and a sitting area, which is a great use of what little space they had. I highly recommend this set, for everyone, you will not be disappointed by the end model, there's just so much that's great about it.It’s honestly incredible just how fun this is, especially since this was created without any complex mechanism or parts. On the other end is a cabinet with a teapot on it, and a wrapping station. The use of the red and white doors as a roll of wrapping paper is absolutely inspired. What do you think of the 2020 Winter Village set? Do you think it’s a great addition to the Winter Village and does it fit in well with the other buildings? I admit I skipped ahead in the instruction book to finish up Brixen. The only thing missing was the harness to hook the reindeer up to the sleigh. Final thoughts: The LEGO Elf Club House is a worthy addition to the Winter Village, and is a solid follow-up to last year’s Gingerbread House.

Last year, in my review of set Gingerbread House, I spoke a little about Winter Village sets and Christmas LEGO in general. You can also read other WInter Village / Christmas articles using the links below. The final bit of building is putting together the chimney. Rather than just another rehash of a wood-burning hearth, we get something entirely new. Thanks to a bit of clever LEGO engineering, there’s a plinko-like mechanism to cook waffles! I’ve left the front off of it here so you can see the setup. You’ll get to see it in action below. Last but not least are the Christmas lights, which employ yet another new technique using bulbs instead of studs. This is an easy, easy set to recommend to buy, as you’ll enjoy every moment of the set. With LEGO being in such short supply this year, I wouldn’t hesitate in pulling the trigger on the Elf Club House, especially if you want to avoid missing out for Christmas this year.Say hello to the 2020 LEGO Winter Village set – 10275 Elf Club House, the perfect addition to your Christmas LEGO display. The breakfast nook is cute, but in action it again makes you question the ergonomics of the club house. Since the elf minifigures have short, non-articulated legs, they have to stand on the chairs instead of sitting. That’s an understandable compromise, but due to the height of the table, plates, and mug, you have to raise the figures arms to almost comical heights to get them to fit into the space. And just forget trying to get two elves to have a bite at the same time. You’re probably better off just putting all the elves in other areas of the club house when you display things. There are no names afforded to the Elves, although the “leader” can be inferred by the red scarf. They have all sorts of cheery expressions on their face, which is exactly what you’d expect from indentured magical creatures. There's a few things that will make a LEGO set a must have for me. One of those things is Christmas. I'm one of those annoying people who loves Christmas more than caring about whether my family want to watch a Hallmark Christmas movie in July. Christmas music hits my playlists early November, decorations go up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Part of those decorations is my collection of Christmas LEGO. This year I may need to convince my wife to get a second table because my collection is getting too big for my allotted corner.

The Elf Club House is a fun little set, that expands on the Winter Village by providing a base of operations and accommodation for Santa’s hardworking Elves. Bag 4: Last years Gingerbread House set an incredibly high bar for roof design, one that is unlikely to ever be beaten. But the Elf Club House gives it a good try. It has some steep, dramatic slopes that aren't often seen in LEGO houses, and as long as you can look past the small gap where the roof sections join, you'll love the final look, especially the curvy edges. It would have been so easy to design this with the straight edge but the designer took that specific step to add depth to the roofline. The main roof section is also held on by so little it's a complete mystery to me how it seems so solid and secure. It’s been tradition on the blog to publish my review of this year’s Winter Village set around Christmas, but LEGO were kind enough to offer the set for review, and I couldn’t wait till December. Elf Club House will be available from LEGO.com on 23 September onwards from LEGO.com or your local LEGO store. I really love the new LEGO Reindeer, and I wish they had included another one, so I’ll be hoping we see it used in future LEGO sets to make the most of this utterly gorgeous mould. Bag 2: Onto the house. Immediately you notice now tight the floorprint is, a sharp contrast to the sprawling two story Gingerbread House last year. By the end of the bag you have the second floor in place. The wrap station is just flawless, I love it when small details grab me like this, they make a model so much more interesting. It's a shame we didn't get more space to flesh out the rest of the Elves living area. Only two of the faces have dual expressions, which is okay, but not great. As noted above, having a “sleeping” option for at least three of these characters would have been a nice enhancement.
