About this deal

Jess, too, inspected him top to bottom. “More like a socially constipated medieval art professor.” She tried to remember when he’d started coming in here. Maybe two years ago? Almost every day, same time every morning, same drink, same sullen silence. This was a quirky neighborhood, and Twiggs was its heart. People came in to linger, to sip, to chat; Americano stood out not for being different or eccentric but for being almost entirely silent in a space full of boisterous, lovable weirdos. “Nice clothes, but inside them he’s all grouchy,” Jess mumbled. Juno went quiet behind her, and understanding dropped like a weight in Jess’s chest. She turned to find her kid wearing the enormous-eyed expression of preemptive begging. Juno, baby, no. Much like the multitude of readers who devoured the captivating Soulmate Equation crafted by this dynamic duo, I found myself thrusting my fist in exhilaration and exclaiming, "Let Fizzy bask in her own story!" This vivacious, intelligent, audacious, and vibrant woman holds the remarkable ability to command a scene and assume the perfect supporting role, rightfully earning her pursuit of a Happily Ever After. I adored all the characters! Jess, a single mom to her daughter Juno. Jess’s best friend and partner in crime, Fizzy. We all need a best friend like Fizzy to push us out of our comfort zone. (Thank you, Susanne💞). I even warmed up to River as his walls came down and he opened his heart. And what happened to her grand parents?! They were pretty consistently part of the story until suddenly they weren't. Just another mellow dramatic plot device/point that was dropped as soon as it wasn't needed any more?

The Soulmate Equation is about a single mom named Jess, who works as a freelance statistician and is obsessed with data and numbers. She lives with her 7-year old daughter, Juno, in an apartment right across from her grandmother and grandfather, who raised her. And I know, I know, Love and Other Words makes me cry too, but this book touches my soul every time I read it. I'd suspect most people comment on your eyes,' he said quietly, running a fingertip across her collarbone. 'That startling, bright blue.'

Juno went quiet behind her, and understanding dropped like a weight in Jess’s chest. She turned to find her kid wearing the enormous-eyed expression of preemptive begging. “Juno, baby, no.” Your friends who are fans of Christina Lauren and who love romance tropes like slow burn, hate-to-love, and fake dating (although it's more like forced dating in this story). Thank you to Gallery Books and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book will be published on 5/18/2021. So… Her brows climbed her forehead. Americano was apparently very comfortable with pointed silence. Is that a ‘no’ to matchmaking? He’s a shitty tipper! It threw another log on her Petty Reasons Why Americano Is Awful mental fire.

Enter River, who frequents the same coffee shop where Jess works with her best friend Fizzy, a romance novelist (and the most delightful human). After two years of noticing each other over the two minutes River spends there every morning, Jess learns that he is launching a match-making company which uses your genetic material to find your soulmate (the way they explain this science is super interesting, btw). I’m not talking just about sex,” Fizzy said. “I’m talking about not always putting yourself last.” Fizzy paused to wave to Daniel, who was wiping down a table nearby. “Daniel, did you catch all of that?” He comes in here and emits the vibe that if anyone tried to talk to him, he would do a murder, Jess quipped. Personally, I think Daniel has no idea what he’s talking about. Rich men who look like that are too married to their jobs during the day and their investment portfolios at night to think about anyone’s love life. So…who’s a fan of reality TV? Maybe those “dating” shows that keep popping up everywhere? Yes? I thought so! Then you’re going to adore this book!Fizz. I’ve had sex since birthing Juno,” Jess said in exasperation. “I’m just saying I don’t have a lot left over for commitment, and I’m not willing to endure boring or outright terrible dates just for orgasms. They make battery-operated appliances for that.” Can Connor pull off a wildly successful reality show and save his career? More importantly, will Fizzy at last find her love? Matchmaking? Jess asked. The same Americano who is a regular here in this coffee shop and yet never smiles at anyone? She pointed behind her to the door he’d exited through only a minute ago. " That guy? With his intense hotness marred by the moody, antisocial filter?"

Okay. Her friend returned with her drink and a huge blueberry muffin, and took a moment to get situated. Where was I? Only Fizzy laughed. Daniel gave a coy shrug. He’s about to launch a cutting-edge matchmaking company. I liked Jess, she felt realistic, bringing Juno up, working and trying to pay the bills. She was smart, kind and family orientated. The stress of her morning routine, trying to get Juno ready and to school felt very familiar! It took me a while to warm up to River, he was quite an unlikeable, workaholic, aloof character to begin with. I did end up liking him more as the story progressed, but maybe a dual POV would've helped here?

The soulmate equation. Anima gemella cercasi by Christina Lauren – eBook Details At the end of the novel, River hands Jess an envelope with their DNADuo test data, but she decides not to look. Would you look in the envelope? Union-Tribune, Jess comments on the mutual attraction she and River have, saying, “I don’t know about soulmate, but I’d admit to lust.” Discuss the relationship of love and lust.
