About this deal

TIP Refer to our Hypervolt Go 2 Review to read what has changed and what has not vs. the Go 1. Hypervolt Go 2 compared side-by-side to Ekrin Bantam. You won’t get much battery life out of this mini massage gun though, given the size of the body. But hey, as long as you’re keeping near a power source and you are charging in between sessions every time you need some post-workout massage to help relieve muscle soreness. It’s important to note that percussive therapy isn’t a be-all-and-end-all for muscle soreness. What these machines do is increase blood flow to specific muscle areas, which can help reduce inflammation and tension, as well as relieve muscle knots. This is done via the force of percussive therapy – or vibration therapy – used to work the body’s soft tissue in a way similar to a deep-tissue massage. As such, everyone from the casual gym-goer and the personal trainer, to the professional athlete and those with chronic pain have found plenty of benefits from using a massage gun for muscle recovery. Dragging yourself out of bed early in the morning can be a struggle at the best of times, but especially when crippling DOMS make your muscles feel like you’ve gone 12 rounds in the boxing ring.

You get 5 speed gears to go with the high percussions. You probably won’t get a harder punch, but you’ll definitely get a thorough massage.

2. Best budget massage gun: RenPho Deep Tissue Massager

Use a slow and steady tempo. Especially when you are first using the product, it will treat the targeted muscle more effectively. This cookie, set by YouTube, registers a unique ID to store data on what videos from YouTube the user has seen.

It comes with 5 attachment heads, which is awesome because with a full set there’s more to your massage session. Amplitude is the only one feature when Theragun mini shines, with its 12mm. But sometimes, you’ll want to sacrifice more head travel for more no-stall force. Theragun Mini’s 12 mm amplitude is really impressive for a mini device. Now keep in mind, we’re only rounding up the ones we’ve tried ourselves and we’ll be updating this guide once we get our hands on more of these massage guns. It’s a growing market, and while leaders like Hydragun and Therabody are near the top, we are yet to test popular entries from other brands like the HoMedics Physio massage gun and the popular Healsage Pro massage gun. Several alternatives to massage guns provide comparable benefits. You can use these methods individually, in combination, and with massage gun therapy. Overall, a very decent proposition that might not be as powerful (nor compact) as Bantam, but it is a solid runner-up and our number two choice. It is also an affordable one.

CUSTOMISE YOUR MASSAGE

Slightly bigger, yet still very compact ones. We call them small massage guns instead of mini. Example devices Hypervolt Go 2, Renpho R3, or Taotronics PCA004.

The Bantam will feel slightly vibrational compared to Theragun mini 2.0 in this regard. Still, the Bantam betters Theragun mini 2.0 with its 3200RPM max percussions (vs. 2450 in Theragun). The new mini 2.0 is smaller, lighter and overall much better than its predecessor. It measures just 6.5” by 4.5” by 1.9. Just about the same height as iPhone 12 Pro and noticeably smaller than the Hypervolt Go 2, for instance.A carrying case is important too since you’re going to want to take your massage gun with you to the gym. They are shaped rather oddly so can feel overly obtrusive in a normal gym bag without the dedicated carrying case. Ease of use. Consider not only if you can hold and apply pressure by yourself, but also how easy it is to swiftly cycle through the different speeds as you target different parts of your body.
