We are introduced to a whole new cast of important characters in this book which was a little strange in the beginning, especially after getting to know Liam, Chubs and Zu so well. But the new guys are a great addition to the story and the writing style of the author really allows the reader to understand and know them in depth. Ruby has become more mature and taken up new responsibilities about her powers that she didn’t want to have. This has opened so many new doors and possibilities for her. Jude is like the little brother that Ruby never had and they are funny and very enjoyable to follow together. Finally, Vida is a character that made the story more realistic. Be warned though, there is a lot of heavy, I would say, cursing in this book that might not be appropriate for very young teens. This is another difference from the first book in the series. I LOVED The Darkest Minds. After I read the first chapter of Never Fade (it was included at the end of my copy of The Darkest Minds), I was a little worried that it would focus more on EPIC LOVE OMG and less on all the awesome people and the interesting plot from the first book. Well. That was SO not the case.It is revealed that Clancy is using his powers to control the government, and wants to use his new memory-erasing powers to turn Ruby to his side and forget her friends, but she manages to escape with the others. Liam flees with all of the haven children, while Ruby faces off against Clancy, destroying the camp and making her escape with Chubs. Chubs is severely injured, leaving Ruby no choice but to use her panic button to call the League for help. Expectations are that these cast members will return from The Darkest Minds and you can also see New faces in the movie which will increase the cast members. Liam's Story is a short story that falls between The Darkest Minds and Never Fade, and tells the story from Liam's point of view. She turns to Cole, his older brother, to provide the intense training she knows she will need to take down Gray and the government. But Cole has demons of his own, and one fatal mistake may be the spark that sets the world on fire.Liam Stewart has crucial information about the disease that killed millions of children and the corrupt government will stop at nothing to destroy it. Since the rights have not been acquired yet for taking Never Fade so we can expect the sequel may continue from this book or they may continue from the ending of The Darkest Minds. In an abandoned mall, they cross paths with another group of survivors. The others know where East River is, but the only clue they reveal — due to the subtle influence of Ruby's power — are the letters "E.D.O.". Chubbs eventually deduces that this is a radio frequency, which reveals a transmission that East River is in Lake Prince, Virginia. Ruby can change your memories or just read your mind. Or she can kill your brain so to speak. But she's a good girl and doesn't do harm to those that aren't dangerous.

Liam is still my everything! Gods I missed him so much. I even held a little grudge at Ruby for well you know. Liam was so lost and felt like something was missing and nothing was making any sense. His mind was all muddled up and unclear. The moment Liam came into the book, that was the point in which I was hooked. His personality is entrancing and he just has this charismatic way about him. He just lures you into his web and you're a goner. He's just so charming, compassionate brave and loyal. The thing is, I really liked how the first book ended. I didn’t like that it came about as a result of Ruby’s stupid decisions, and the cliffhanger itself came from her Worst Decision Ever erasing Liam’s memory and aligning with the League, but it sure did intrigue me and had me highly anticipating the sequel -- I thought it opened up all kinds of doors to the story and I was excited to see where the author would take it. Additionally, some critics felt the film didn’t quite capture the depth and complexity of the source material, which can often be a challenge when adapting a book into a film.
