About this deal

Jesus makes all things new for those who love Him. The greatest love story ever told is the one of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. He has made a way for us to enter the throne room and live eternal life with Him in Paradise.

Second item, in verse 14. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you my servants, I call you my friends. So friendship with God and friendship in general. There’s something interesting about a real friend. A real friend will tell you the truth. Recently, I just got reconnected with a guy who three years ago, as his friend, I told the truth to. He got mad about it and he basically withdrew from me for about three years. Jesus is your friend, Jesus will tell you the truth. But to abide in Jesus means we get to be his friend, we get to actually have him tutor our hearts, and tell us the truth. God’s affections for you define your true value and eternal worth—your identity and greatness are determined by His burning heart—the anchor of your soul is God’s desire for you. My boss and her family are Buddhist, but I’m worried I somehow offended this woman who is a friend. I’m afraid she’ll complain about me (even though she was pleasant through the whole encounter). My boss is a wonderful woman and I do want to represent her shop in a good way. Have in mind that Jesus gave that “love” announcement to the disciples (during last supper night). And they were far from perfect. Peter would deny Jesus three times (sealing the denial with a couple of curse words) and the rest of the disciples would run away Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,it is not easily angered,it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evilbut rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread Your protection over them, that all who love Your name may be filled with joy. For You bless the godly, O LORD; You surround them with Your shield of love. (Psalm 5:11-12) Kratzer, A. (2009). Making a pronoun: Fake indexicals as windows into the properties of pronouns. Linguistic Inquiry, 40(2), 187–237. This kind of love doesn’t just happen. It’s the kind of love that we must act upon. Love is not just a feeling, it is a choice. Jesus wasn’t forced to love us. He chose to love us with open arms nailed to the cross. Jesus is love. I’m no good in these situations but I say, “Yes, they have.” Because, well, I have been told that before. This is a fairly religious town and I’m told all the time. She gets excited and I realize I’ve probably made a mistake, now she thinks I’m Christian. So she goes on about Jesus and then asks, “Do you know where you’re going when you die?” and I respond, in a nice tone, “Probably not Heaven, I’m an atheist.”

God does this for you. Once you choose to begin a relationship with God, you experience His forgiveness. This allows you to let go of negative aspects of your personal history and move toward positive change. You also receive His Holy Spirit, who guides you, gives you strength and is present with you every day.But He does want you here. He has a purpose and plan for your life and wants to see you fulfill it.

Is there a cool thing that Protestants say (like "ping" - "pong" on IRC or that cool sign Harley guys do)? I know Bill Cosby thought it was cool that Protestants say "Amen", but I don't think that's an "Amen" moment. I want to say "Thanks for remembering me, Jesus loves you too!", I don't want to say "I know, ain't I cool". God is spirit, and while you might not see Him physically, He works through others to fulfill His desires in our lives. Ask God to give you hope because of His never-ending love. Ask Him to fill you with His peace that is more powerful than all of the hard things in your life. Every day is a new opportunity to receive God’s mercy and love. But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8) So there is no greater love than this love that Jesus has for us, and the way he wants us to respond is by abiding in him. He wants us to remain in him, to live in him. He is the vine we are the branch, he wants us to remain grafted into the vine, and all the nourishment that we need, everything for life, everything to produce fruit, will come through the trunk of the vine into us. Basically, how Jesus wants you to respond is to receive his love. Then, when you are filled with love and because of the gratitude that we feel for it in response to that, we will want to obey him. We will find ourselves obeying his commands. He says my command is this, love each other. In Romans 13 it says that all of the commands are summed up in this one. If you keep this one command, you will find that you are keeping all of the others. Love each other! Just imagine the joy of our heavenly Father when one day he’s able to gather all of us together again. I wonder if he’s going to cry? You know how happy he’s going to be. The Big Idea here today is this: Jesus wants a relationship with you that mirrors His relationship with the Father. And the joy of that friendship is supposed to be yours by abiding in Christ. Some of you are coming to the Bible Study and you’re not quite sure about whether to embrace this Jesus, this love of Christ. So you come to the Bible Study to learn, but maybe today is the day you realize that you need to make this personal, that you need to become the Christian, not just be a Christian in waiting. Kind of like the grandparents to be, as it were. It’s time to go ahead and give this faith birth, to really release yourself to this loving Christ who wants to remain and abide in you, so you can abide in him. We’re going to close now with a prayer, and I’m going to offer a prayer. If you are among those men, whether here or online, who have not yet received Jesus Christ into your life, I’m going to give you an opportunity to do that. So let’s close in prayer. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. (Lamentations 3:20-23) God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. (Ephesians 1:5)

Jesus is our only way to Heaven and he has prepared a special place for us. He wants us to experience His unconditional love. He desires for all of us to humbly come to Him and surrender our lives. MacFarlane, J. (2014). Assessment sensitivity: Relative truth and its applications. Oxford: Oxford University Press. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (Ephesians 3:18-19)The book mentions that Jesus wants to share in our life. But what about our sharing in His life? What about our knowing the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings? What about our joining in with the work of God the Father and being co-workers with Christ to advance His Kingdom? What about the harvest of lost souls that is plentiful? What about the great commission? Rather, this book shows someone who happily settles in the American lifestyle, who - if I dare say it - conforms to the pattern of this world.
