About this deal

Minor bug fix with the Mesh Intercom button being disabled on the Sena Motorcycles App after activating the voice dialer using the buttons on the headset The Sena 10C Evo is perhaps the most complete of all the motorcycle cameras I’ve tested recently. Or should I describe the Sena 10C Evo as an excellent Bluetooth intercom that also has a camera? It all started with the Sena 50S Mesh enabled intercom which has revolutionised some of our longer trips. No more crazy hand signals or following the leader blindly on another GPS suggested diversion to nowhere we actually wanted to go. It sounds like nothing, but somehow having my helmet hanging around while I charge the 10C Evo seems cumbersome. Crazy isn’t it, yet somehow that irritates me. For the camera, Sena has an App that covers all of the cameras in their range, this time connecting over WiFi. The Sena Camera App gives you the option to live preview the video, which takes all of the guesswork out of trying to get the horizon level when installing the camera.

The UHD camera shoots in 4K/30fps and allows for still shot, burst, and time-lapse photo modes with WiFi capability. With the equipped 4-way Bluetooth intercom, chat with your riding buddies up to 1.6km (1 mile) away. Built to handle the many demands of outdoor sports, motorsports, and first responders with ease. Capture video in 4K at 30 frames per second or take photos in still shot, burst, or time-lapse mode. The camera button allows for simple one-touch recording while Voice Prompts keep you updated on the camera's progress. With video tagging, you can save important events from a continuous loop of video recording, instantly creating highlights. As for storage, the 10C EVO accepts MicroSD cards up to 128 GB.The installation of the speakers and wiring harness are straightforward. I used the boom mic for the HJC modular and the wired mic for the Klim full-face off-road helmet. I did have a little trouble with the harness connector that connects to the 10C Evo unit from the mic and speaker wires. I was overthinking it.

Stay in touch with three other riders up to a 1.0 mile (1.6km) range via built-in Bluetooth intercom. The 10C Pro allows riders to make phone calls, listen to music or GPS, connect with an on-bike entertainment system, use the built-in FM radio and more. Integrated voice prompts advise riders on the use of their device with instant status updates of their unit. Our Helmets are sent out in Brand New boxes, items clearly damaged in transit should not be accepted as once signed for, are accepted as delivered complete and undamaged . Helmet City cannot be held responsible for any damage discovered after the item has been signed for.In the first segment this week, Senior Editor Nic de Sena chats with Arthur Coldwells about KTM’s latest Super Duke 1290 GT. That’s the sport-touring version of the Super Duke R. The question is whether KTM overly detuned its fierce superbike, or whether even in touring mode, the heart of The Beast is still just as savage. Another thing to bear in mind, is that a helmet in say size Medium from one Manufacturer may fit completely differently to a Medium from another Manufacturer. Therefore we would always recommend travelling to a dealer to try a number of different brands to get the perfect fit for your head shape. Turning on video recording or taking photos takes a few seconds each. If you have a closure rate of 140 mph and want to take a photo or video of a passing group of riders, you better press the camera button as soon as they come into view to get the process started. The camera is off by default, unless you turn it on or it is loop recording mode. I currently have the Sena 10c. Is the 10c pro device interchangeable with the standard 10c speaker and microphone wire/loom, or does the 10c pro require the use of the wire/loom it is shipped with?

Whereas hybrid devices have a tendency to be a compromise, I’m yet to find where the Sena 10C Evo is missing a feature. It records excellent 4K video and will also record in 1080P. Neither App requires much explanation. There are help buttons next to the options, and if two options are incompatible with each other, the App tells you so. If you are generally happy with the fit, leave the helmet on for a good length of time to ensure it is not pressing in places that are not immediately apparant. If a helmet is really pressing on your forehead this can sometimes cause a headache over time so it may be worth trying another size or brand. The 10C EVO's compact, aerodynamic design is optimized for helmets as it hugs close to the outer shell. This results in reduced wind resistance and noise, improving your audio experience. In comparison to other similar camera systems, the design is slender yet the performance excels where it matters, with up to 20 hours of talk time and 1.5 hours of video recording. The Sena Prism and 50S are both designed to detach from my helmet for charging, for the 10C Evo this doesn’t appear to have been a consideration.Combining Sena's leading Bluetooth communications platform with an integrated 4K camera, the 10C EVO allows for easy rider communication and video recording. The 10C EVO's features include: The easy thing to do would have been to wait for perfect conditions and filmed the spring countryside bathed in warm sunshine, but that isn’t the real world. I connected the 10C Evo with my Sena 10S and my Sena SF1—Senas love connecting to each other. Although I can successfully connect the 10C Evo to a competitive brand Bluetooth intercom, it requires a much more non-conventional connection process. Plus, the connection has limited range and no ability to include multiple riders. Unfortunately, this is an issue with competitive brands connecting to each other.

It definitely shows that this is the rider’s point of view, but you will have to turn your head accordingly to get a photo or video of subjects on your right side. Knowing this, I simply turn my head the extra 30ish degrees to get the right-side subject in-frame.I'm very happy with the audio quality, battery life not great with video. Sena app is a little clunky. Yes, it can be done, but the connectors don’t appear to be made with regular connection/disconnection in mind. Sena Camera App support for a live preview of the camera, manage videos on the microSD card and change camera settings In the Youtube video below I’ve included video taken with the Sena Prism and the 10C Evo so you can make a direct comparison. Start by touching the photo button, which turns the camera on. Then, it takes a single touch for photos or one-second press for video. It all happens with a bit of delay, but you get used to the timing after a while. You get audio cues such as “camera on”, “recording”, and a shutter sound. You can also take stills while recording in the highest definition, though the photo resolution is reduced to 8MP from the maximum of 12MP. Crop comparison: iPhone 12X (left) and Sena 10C Evo
