About this deal

As for his relationship with their kids, all was well prior to Jo's accident. But the aftermath sets the scene for some family disagreement.

Close to me delves into the dynamics of family and the resulting aftermath when things ultimately implode. And then there's the mystery of her mobile phone. Jo is sure that she didn't break it during her fall. But she has no reason to believe that anything her husband is telling her isn't the truth. And the best part from the entire scene is Autumn getting angry at HIM because he told her about it and then proceeds to leave. This is a very addictive read. It isn’t as original as some of the books in it’s genre but the writing is fabulous - engaging and engrossing. Really looking forward to Amanda Reynolds’ next book!

This is a book that I could not put down. It was totally addicting and I binged this book in a single day. Monica Murphy always has a way of pulling the reader into the story and into the characters' lives. I was also rather irritated by the author’s continued references to one of the characters showing her gums when she smiled. In fact, Rose’s gums were mentioned a total of 10 times! After forgiving her father, Jo returned home to her family. She then overheard Rob – in an obvious attempt to gaslight her – telling their kids Sass and Finn that he was concerned that she had been imagining things. Despite him repeatedly trying to stop her speaking, Jo then firmly told her kids that she was leaving their father because of his affair. Whilst there was the book to work with, actor Christopher Eccleston "worked purely from the script". Close to Me is a binge worthy book. I didn't want to put it down and read it in a day. Autumn is Drew and Fable's daughter and you see how close knit of a family they have. Drew coaches football at Autumn's high school so she is popular and also kids try to get close to her because of who her dad is. The good thing about her is that she is such a nice girl. Even though she is wealthy, she is also sweet to everyone, everyone but Ash. She does feel pressure to be a certain way and feels that she is expected to be a proper girl and have the perfect boyfriend. That perfect boyfriend isn't the bad boy she meets freshman year that she can't stop thinking about. This engrossing story of lies, families, secrets and betrayals is voiced entirely by Jo in the third person pov.It unfolds in chapters that alternate between before and after the fall, the chapters are clearly headed and the story flows along nicely. The characters are well developed and realistic but mostly unlikable apart from Jo`s son Fin and Rose who works in the drop out centre where Jo volunteers. It must be absolutely terrifying to lose a whole chunk of your life and the authors portrayal of Jo`s fear, frustration and confusion was believable and realistic but I found it hard to feel any sympathy for her because of some of her thoughts and actions as the story unfolded.

Oh the angst in this story! I cannot express how much I loved this book. Asher and Autumn were everything I could have wanted and more. He is such a damaged soul that is looking for acceptance and love but does not know how to show his own feelings. He is dealing with so much and the only thing that gets him through are his feelings for Autumn. He believes that there is no way that she could want him so he admires her from a distance. Autumn comes from a loving family and has everything going for her. She is drawn to bad boy Asher. He annoys her and makes her feel things that she has never felt. Most of the time she thinks that he doesn’t like her as he is always making fun of her. Then there are the times that he says things that she likes. When a situation arises, it pushes them closer together but to them it feels like everything and everyone is pulling them apart. Both of these characters are great individually but together it is pure beauty. It was great to see Drew and Fable as parents. As one of my favorite couples, they are raising wonderful children. I’m looking forward to seeing the other kids in their own stories. No matter what type of story she tells, I always find myself loving Monica Murphy's stories. She has a writing voice that really speaks to me. Her writing style is one that I always look forward to. It is never clunky and the dialogues are always realistic and on point. Her smooth and clever writing style always wins me over. The 1981 Top 100 Singles chart is identified by the RPM Year-End article "Top 100 Singles (1981)". RPM . Retrieved 5 January 2018. LOS40. While the characters are not exactly likeable, they are compelling, and as different scenarios ran through my head I wasn't sure which way the story was going to go - and I love the fact that I was kept guessing!Nielson traveled between England and her native Denmark for filming. She added that she found the south coast of England 'lovely'. In the finale there is a late twist - a completion of the story - and giving something of a sense of relief; a satisfaction, uncomfortable though it is, that the most appropriate outcome for all might have been achieved, though several characters are not the happiest, understandably, in the circumstances!
