Store Championship is a structured in-store tournament that follows many Magic releases, and The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth is no different, with a Store Championship event during its season as well. These events can be a taste of competitive play for your community, leading into larger events like Regional Championship Qualifiers. You'll receive bulk quantities of the colored d6 dice and the dice bags separately. Store associates will need to assemble your dice sets. Place three d6 of the same color into one maroon dice bag to create one dice set. WPN Premium stores, in addition to receiving a higher quantity of the promotional dice sets mentioned above, will receive a Photoflyer activation kit; this kit will allow players to take a souvenir photo that will slot into a frame and become a usable 1/1 Human token. Update: To ensure as many stores as possible in the EMEA region have their promotional materials on hand for the event, the Magic Celebration Event has new dates: July 14 – 16. You can reschedule your event in Wizards EventLink using our new event template. If you’ve already scheduled, be sure to also cancel your existing event. Launch Party takes place on release weekend, and it provides your players with another opportunity to come into your store and celebrate Limited play with Booster Draft or Sealed events. Wizards Account Participant Prizes The Fellowship joins The Gathering in a big way this summer: WPN stores around the globe can host a The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth™ themed Magic Celebration event from July 7 – 9. This event will bring brand-new and long-time players together to enjoy games of Jumpstart in a familiar setting from the epic fantasy novels written by J.R.R. Tolkien. Players start out in The Shire with only Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee with access to purchasing Bill the Pony. As they approach Rivendell, they encounter their first of Sauron’s forces— represented by Sauron’s Enemies dice. They also meet the Elves who help to equip them with Weapons, Heirlooms and Gifts— four of each are included with the game; one of each type is dealt out randomly each time you play. As the Fellowship strikes out from Rivendell to travel through the Mines of Moria, more of Sauron’s minions rise up to challenge the players but the players also now have access to six characters from The Lord of the Rings trilogy— the 6 character cards are double-sided to provide twelve different playable characters.
