It all started with their sweet little 'nothing just friends' friendship. They had this honesty thing which was really endearing and to see how they both just stay and listen to each other's truth and pain without any judgement, except that honesty never worked when they had to talk about their feelings. As Jasper and Sloan travel together, they become closer, both emotionally and physically. I loves this part of the story. As they spend time together, the two move them out of the friend zone and into something more. Their relationship becomes pretty steamy–Jasper likes control and is pretty bossy in the bedroom and Sloan is there for that big time! Sloane was a prima ballerina with some control issues — and none of them are HER control issues. Everyone wants to control her, and she was getting tired of it. I loved how running away on what was supposed to be her wedding day was the catalyst she needed to change her life for the better. The more Sloane took control of her own life, the more I liked her. I have to say that Drunk Sloane might be my favorite Sloane.
I’m not an enthusiast of friends to lovers and was a little scared to be once again disappointed with the "Why the hell haven’t they acted on their feelings yet????". You’re not just tattooed on my skin. You’re branded on my heart. Woven into the fiber of my being. The most constant and reassuring person in my life. When I close my eyes, I see you. Childhood friends to lovers is my comfort trope, so I already knew that I'm going to devour this book and I did it in less than 2 days and I also fell in love with Jasper and Sloane's story. The two stupids who were in love with each other for the better part of their lives but never tried to act on their feelings or maybe time and situations were never in their favour. But the moment Jasper knew that he's gonna lose Sloane and the situation calls Jasper to help Sloane break out of her sham marriage, he didn't even bat an eyelash and was their to help HIS GIRL. But what would happen when they are again in each other's closed proximity and can't fight the attraction between them?Powerless’ was an exciting, romantic and very touching read. And it definitely had some very funny moments as well. Because Summer isn’t just another conquest. She sees the man behind the mask, and she doesn’t run—she pulls me closer, even when she shouldn’t. I try not to let her get to me, but the more time we spend together the more I crave her. Her lips. Her trust. Her heart.
A hot cowboy, rancher and a single dad to most adorable kid. He is grumpy and a little infuriating who doesn't know how to make jokes or even communicate sometimes but he is the most thoughtful, selfless and caring person I have ever seen. And we all know he is also known for his dirty dirty mouth which is a threat to my ovaries 🥵 yes i wanted to bang my head against a steel door bc the smut was cringe at times and their family joking around that they’re cousins…they’re NOT!! not by blood, not even legally!! those bitches from credence were more blood related than them 😒 There's a twist closer to the end. I'm not giving anything away, but it was the right move. The right way to go. Like I said, Elsie has her magic. At that birthday party? Where I got held under the water? He told me that even my mom didn’t like me.” The only scenes that got me through this book were the Willa x Cade scenes and Winter x Theo first meeting.Elsie Silver NEEDS to write a bonus scenes of how Willa managed to convinced Cade to go along with her plan to help Sloane get away from her own wedding.. look at him that poor man was probably held at gunpoint by his wife 😭🤚 Powerless is the third book in Elsie Silver’s ‘Chestnut Springs’ series and I am obsessed! Seriously, every book in this series is incredible! Friends to lovers, age gap, unrequited love, sports romance and forced proximity. So many troupes I love! Now, I do gotta say that at the end, there was a trope that I normally really dislike in books… but it just worked so well in this story and with Willa and Cade’s relationship that I surprisingly did not mind it at all!! It somehow made me love their relationship even more because of how strong and unconditional their love for one another is! Let’s just say that this book is a masterpiece. it's always the quiet ones apparently!!!! FILTHY. like this is a slow burn but then the spice will have you blushing from head to toe, ok?
