A DAC NFL alloy pole is used for the main pole along with additional alloy end poles. There are also handy reflective tapes around the pole sleeve to help its location and ease of pitching. Colour-coding also ensures locating the slots for the end poles can be completed with ease when pitching the tent. The inner door is half mesh which is midge proof and there are mesh panels at each end of the flysheet and inner (with a waterproof cover) to ensure for good ventilation.

As a winter tent, the Laser Compact AS is a good choice. The design is a bit heavy for summer unless you plan on high-level camping in storms. The outer can be pitched on its own, too, for a super-lightweight setup which still offers a reasonable level of protection. Otherwise, the Ordos 2 is also available with a footprint for a tenner more; a worthwhile investment.
