About this deal

Sa1nt's one of our favorite denim makers for riding because they don't cut corners. For instance, they knit with Dyneema, a material that's 15 times stronger than steel, and unlike other materials some brands use, Dyneema doesn't impact that coveted "jeans" feel. This matters: Even though these earn a CE AA rating, they fit and feel exactly like any denim you'd wear for any application, and that means you WILL choose these dungarees for any ride, probably over your more technical trousers, and that's okay—because at least it means you're not ripping around in a pair of dungarees that aren't designed to save your epidermis during a slide. Despite having the potential to pass a Darmstadt abrasion test, plain denim – or fashion jeans – can burst open the moment it hits a typical road surface in a real-world crash (ask me how I know). This is actually more of a problem at lower speeds as the rider isn’t as likely to be ‘skating’ over the surface, so much of the energy is transferred straight into the fabric, which rips apart leaving your skin exposed, especially with no armour behind to absorb it. You’ll find relatively unknown armour brands like Smoothways and Keeptech, along with big players like D3O, Forcefield and Knox, as well as some own-brands like Dainese. In jeans, to achieve an AA or AAA rating, armour must be fitted at the knees AND the hips, but as to which is best… well, in all claims of safety, testing should be the final arbiter, so Level 2 offers the best protection. Some brands of armour achieve that with thinner materials than others, but it’ll come down to what feels comfortable to you, and what looks good.

Hold the REV'IT! Eclipse at eye level, and you can literally see right through them. On a hot day, you might be tempted to ride in shorts… don't. Wear these instead. They offer a CE A rating and come with REV'IT! 's Seesmart CE Level 1 knee and hip armor, and you can adjust the knee armor up or down. Outlast Outlast Outlast offers micro encapsulated phase change materials, which are incorporated into fabrics and fibres for absorbing, storing, and releasing excess heat. (12)

But why are they so dang comfy? That starts with the triple-layer Schoeller material that's super stretchy for riding, so it doesn't bind and even offers a bit of added grip on your seat—ADV riders will appreciate that, especially for tech fire-road rips. The material is highly abrasion resistant yet still breathes reasonably well while offering a measure of wind-fighting and dries fast if you get it wet. If it's a full-on broiler outside, you'd want active venting. But otherwise, the Ramble is ideal year-round, with enough heft to offer protection but a look that doesn't even whisper "motorcycle." Vented Vented Jeans feature perforations or have zip opening vents to offer airflow to keep the body cool. (468) Besides the knees in all levels, the hips in AA and AAA, and the bum in AAA only, the rest of the jeans are tested with the rig spinning at much lower speeds, so potentially offer less protection. You can see all the info in this article . A tapered fit creates a contemporary silhouette whilst offering similar levels of practicality as a roomier straight leg fit. A crotch gusset has been added to give extra flexibility which, coupled with a precisely selected amount of fabric stretch, helps to prevent the hem of the pant from riding up when sat on the bike.

Some moto clothing is so benign, you could remove the armor and happily wear it as "normal" garb, which makes that spend a little less painful. It's nice to know you're buying riding jeans that can save your ass and also make your ass look like it's encased in denim, not some super high-tech material nobody sane would wear on the street. What type of riding do you plan to do? MotoCAP’s testing takes into account the abrasion resistance of the entire garment. The details of the construction of these lined jeans has not been verified, but they could be part-lined with only localised areas of a protective fabric. The armour is quite heavy duty at the hips and knees and you can feel it so it's a little intrusive Fit is true to size... I am 32 waist in normal jeans and 32 was good fit so no need to size up to take account of the armour. Because boot diameter is very variable, REV'IT! cut these with wider leg openings, but also provide dual-position snap closures to eliminate any gaping between pant and boot.
