About this deal

I fancy being able to set times when they can get in and out. We've had one in the past where we can just turn the wee knob and manually set it to in but not out but I like the idea of being able to set times in advance because we're not always at home when it starts to get dark for example. The best microchip cat flaps you can buy in 2023 1. Cat Mate 360W Microchip Cat Flap: Best for those on a budget

A battery-powered cat flap with microchip and timer function, allowing you to give your cat the access it needs, while keeping your home safe from uninvited feline visitors. The Cat Mate Elite Microchip Cat Flat with Timer Control is the ideal way to give your cat the freedom to come and go as it pleases, without the main disadvantage of a cat flap that is always open: the uninvited guests. This cat flap keeps your house as a no-go zone for neighbouring cats or, at night, foxes and martens that mistake it as an invitation to come inside, and saves you the hassle of opening the door or window yourself whenever your cat wants to come inside. We've got a Sureflap Dual Scan cat flap which is brilliant. The only thing is it needs Duracell batteries not the cheaper ones It works perfectly at all times. We tried cheap batteries but didn't work. A friend recommended it and said it was very strong and cats definitely can’t get out, which is what I want.If you want to keep your kitty safe, the best microchip cat flaps are a particularly clever invention. They give your cats free access to the outdoors while preventing any neighbourhood moggies from sneaking in. These cat flaps have a built-in sensor that recognises your cat’s microchip, meaning only they can go in and out of the flap. This puts them at a huge advantage over a normal, non-chipped flap – particularly if your cat is being bullied or you have a greedy, six-dinner Sid living nearby. Cat flaps in general are a godsend for those of us who are servants to moggies, meaning we don’t have to get up and down every five minutes to let a cat in or out through a window or door. Allowing cats access to the outside world, in a safe environment, gives them the best life possible, so it’s worth investing in a good cat flap to let them come and go as they please. My neighbour's cat found that if he pushed on the bottom corner of the flap, the other side would move enough for him to hook a claw underneath the flap, pull it towards him and get in the house.I was amazed to see him sitting in the kitchen one day.

We have two 8 month old BSH who have just started to go out and we're just deciding what cat flap to fit, so I'm interested in your reasoning incase we might do the same. It’s a really simple cat flap to programme, with just the push of a button and an LED indicator that flashes to let you know the microchip has been registered. You will need four AA batteries to power the cat flap, but users report that these last for around a year, making the Cat Mate even better value. So it was sealed again and has remained so, but it’s bloomin cold now and even leaving a window open for her during the day makes the house cold. We have a Sureflap for 5/6 years, no problems. It keeps the neighbours cat out. It works with any AA batteries. Have a look in your area their might be someone else who is qualified doing a simalar service. Nope they don't, i have had bad experiences with collars and found even safety ones to be dangerous. I have also heard many other tragic stories relating to collars.

Timer function: allows you to set specific time periods in which the cat flap can be used, based on your own specific need Many cats will graze on their food throughout the day but for those cats who have set mealtimes, they might be a bit put out if there is a delay in their food being served. You could change your cat’s mealtimes gradually so they’re less likely to be waiting desperately at the food bowl for an hour when the change does happen. Medication timesProp the cat flap open with a peg or strong tape. Give your cat time to get used to going in and out through the hole and lower it slightly over time so that they have to start pushing it a little. If your cat is reluctant to use the flap, try enticing them through with their favourite treats. Microchip cat flaps use a similar scanner, inserted into the cat flap itself in the form of a sensor. Setup is extremely easy: you simply introduce your cat’s microchip to the sensor and the cat flap will store its information. Most flaps will also let you register multiple cats. Has anyone used one of these microchip cat flaps that you can set with a timer so you control when they go in and out?
