About this deal

Not bad, at 50% (best I could estimate) on those treble and bass knobs, I see a wee bit more bass energy than treble but of course this can be fine adjusted. Notice phase relatively flat and at 0°, which means that the absolute polarity is maintained (unlike the inverting AOSHIDA). At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a good sound, at an entry-level price, with good dynamics and impact, good driving power, and super effective EQ wheels, which allow you to heavily boost the bass and the treble, Fosi Audio TB10D is an excellent option, and a fully functional Hifi Stereo Amplifier, for the most affordable unit I reviewed to date.

They’ve been in the game long enough to know how to support their products. They also know that their products are good enough that it’s probably unlikely you’ll need a lot of tech support or warranty. The bass had enough slam with the Behringer delivering quite the impactful hits to my chest. Since these were mostly 4 ohm speakers, the treble sounded quite flat and devoid of any artificial tendencies. I believe with 8 ohm speakers there might be a slight rise (most likely inaudible) at the tippy top, this is typical of many class D amps utilizing an output filter. The Adcom GFA-545 with it’s large power supply capacitor reserve had better bass control, but it was a minuet difference. Aluminium alloy enclosure with cooling vents on top and bottom. The Amp chip’s heatsink is attached to the enclosure making the whole case a heatsink Accessory wise you get a power supply and that’s it, to be honest there isn’t anything else that’s needed to get this little amp up and running.Inside is a class D amplifier based around the TPA3255 chipset from Texas Instruments, data sheet Here for anyone interested. The TPA3255 is a high-power, 4-channel amplifier that can be run in a stereo BTL mode as it is here for higher current delivery and power output. This subreddit is for the budget minded audiophile that wants to grow out of soundbars, boomboxes, mini systems, portable bluetooth, lifestyle speakers, and PC peripheral branded audio solutions. Another technique I used was putting 2 drops of distilled water between the heatsink fins. The water has excellent emissivity and will heat up until it boils into vapor, allowing me to accurately measure the temperature until it reaches above 100C or dried up. As you can see in the picture below, the heatsink was extremely hot (85C). Imagine what it would be like if it were enclosed in a sealed enclosure.

Hi, I intend to use a Fosi V3 as an amp for my kitchen set up. There will be 4 speakers (each : nominal impedance 8 ohms, minimal : 6.9 ohms). I am no expert at all and am not sure how to set this up ! (i think 2 speakers in parallel per speaker output on the amp ?) I tested the Fosi Audio TB10D by connecting it to an SMSL DO200 MKII on one side and a pair of Q Acoustics Concept 20 on the other. Calculated average damping factor of 28x into 4Ω across the audible frequencies. This is a bit lower than the AOSHIDA A7 but follows the same general shape with increasing output impedance above 2.5kHz. At 20kHz, output impedance is up above 1.3Ω.

But, as I mentioned in my review of the BT20A, I would not buy this specifically for critical hifi listening. Before you go… Inside, the TB10D houses a Texas Instruments TPA3255 amplifier chip, renowned in the audio enthusiast community for its top-notch performance. So don’t be fooled by its affordability – the TB10D is a well-crafted unit. Sound It’s powerful, it’s full and rich and warm, and the bottom end is really impressive. It’s a simple unit with a simple purpose, as a stereo power amp with a single RCA, and it does what it says on the tin. Fosi Audio claims that the amplifier is able to provide up to 600 W of power (300 W per channel), though the company does not specify at what impedance – I suspect it is at 4 Ω. This claim, however, goes in direct contradiction with the maximum amount of power supplied by the PSU: 160 W (32 V, 5 A). Unless they have discovered the Holy Grail of free energy generation, the actual value of the output is probably going to be lower than that – in the ballpark of 150 W, I would say, so around 75 W per channel of sustained output. So where does the 300 W figure come from? The answer (probably) lies in the amplifier chip, a Texas Instruments TPA3255. Its spec sheet says that it can handle up to 315 W per channel; this is however different from the amplifier effectively offering that kind of power. Sound
