About this deal

Used the gale pump today, it isn't quite but not overly loud. It was running for a 2 or 3 minutes and nothing seemed to be happening. The only indication that air was going in was the psi meter was going up. A few minutes latter and the awning was erect. Simply plug the Dometic gale into a 12v cigar lighter or similar power source using the extra long cable, set the PSI required and let the pump do it's job. The pump has a max psi of 12. 5, I managed to get my awning up to 9psi, it was running for about 10mins to reach that. Just wondering if any "more mature" caravanners here use an electric pump or manage with a manual pump. Interests: Camping / caravanning & Trailer tenting. Mountain biking, trikes, jetski, vintage Tamiya RC buggies

I use an electric pump, the Kampa yellow one, to blow up our air ace 400, takes less than 2 minutes. We had used pump before but this had taken an age to blow our Kampa Air Tent. I used this on my own for the first time and within moments the beams were starting to stand and in under 8mins this tent was up and solid. best pump ever We are dedicated to exploring all that touring has to offer, ensuring excellent service is provided to our membership. I think the fact that Kampa discontinued the Breeze and replaced it with a totally different one tells you they accepted the poor performance of the Breeze. I would very much doubt they would have replaced it with the Gale until they were satisfied the Gale was a much better piece of kit. The Dometic Gale 12v electric pump is designed specifically for use with Kampa and Dometic AIR awnings and tents and is a perfect match as it includes a screw on adaptor designed exclusively for Kampa and Dometic tents and awnings, replacing the manual pump that comes as standard with all models.Very prompt delivery and dispatch. Thanks. Haven’t tried it on the awning yet but it seems to work ok.

First class service from camperlite. An excellent pump although a little noisy. It does exactly what it says it does and rather well. Do your research fully before buying any awning. There have been more than a few reports on here about Kampa’s tendency to leak, especially around the zip area. (I had one that tended to “seep” through the roof. It wasn’t condensation,) how many times a day are we inflating these awnings? I am a relatively fit 64 year old and I inflate ours just once at the start of a trip and have never felt the need to electrify the process.I have a gale pump, works as it should . Word of warning . . it’s not desinged to work with the original air awning as it doesn’t screw to the valve properly. Then after 8 years of sterling service ( including 6 weeks seasonal stretches) the Kampa went Pop. Replaced it with a Vango only because we could get a Vango in a size that didn’t cross a window. No issues with the Vango but the Kampa Gale pump won’t fit it and can’t find any adaptors.
