About this deal

The newer version of the Cloud Up 2 tent has a vent to help reduce condensation. My older version does not have this vent. Despite this, condensation isn’t too bad of an issue in the tent because there is a sizable gap between the fly and inner tent. The Cloud Up 2 is a slightly larger version of the Cloud Up 1. Officially, it’s a two-person tent, but it would be better for one person who wants more space to spread out or an adult and a child. As a general rule, 2-person tents are for 1 person. The Cloud Up 2 is no exception. It is going to be a tight fit for two adults. However, my tween daughter and I fit in the tent fine, even with gear. It’s also very roomy for two kids.

There are 2 different materials that you can choose from when selecting your Cloudup 2 tent. It comes in a 210T Polyester or 20D Nylon. The nylon option can be a little bit lighter, but it stretches and sags when wet. The polyester will hold the shape better during rain and is said to be a little less waterproof. My only concern would be if you are tall. Then your feet or head might touch the walls and you’d end up wet from condensation. And, as mentioned before, the Cloud Up 2 is definitely not big enough to fit two poofy winter sleeping bags! Sleeping Accessories All those things you all ways need when camping in the wild spares and extra things to make your stay a little easierThe materials used to make the FlyCreek tent are definitely of a better quality than those of the CloudUp 2. However, according to what people are saying online, the difference is really negligible (again, I personally haven’t tried out the FlyCreek). That said, 3000mm will be fine for most rainy days. Just make sure to respray your tent with a waterproof coating each time the rain batters it. Water Bottles and Flasks Some would say that Water is the most important thing when it comes to being out in the wild for any period of time. There are many methods of collecting, purifying and carrying water in the field and its important that you choose the right gear for the type of outing that you are doing – Depending on load-carrying if you are on foot or in a vehicle and many other factors. Here at Wood to Water, we have a wide range of purifying, collecting and carrying water. All the equipment we have chosen is tried and tested by our team. For those who invested in the upgrade, this does not seem to be a problem. What I Love About the Naturehike Cloud Up 2

With a waterproof coating of up to 3000mm, the Cloud Up 2 is slightly less water-resistant than the Cloud Up 1. That said, 3000mm is more than enough for most camping conditions, especially if you correctly pitch out the guy lines to prevent moisture from transferring to the inner tent. When it comes to weight, price and quality, you really can’t do much better than the Naturehike Cloud Up 2. However, the tent is definitely cramped inside. If you want something roomier but which is still this light, then get the Cloud Up 3P– or be prepared to spend a lot more.

With sloping walls, one door, and one vestibule I don't think this is an ideal tent for two independent adults. They might want to look at two-door two-vestibule options, Naturehike have a range such as Cloud-Peak 2, Star-River 2, and Mongar; and 3F UL with their Lanshan 2, Tipi, etc. If there is one thing to expect from tents made by Naturehike, it is their sturdy and durable quality of materials. This tent has a 20D nylon-silica rain fly and groundsheet to prevent you from getting wet and keep you warm during inclement conditions. Additionally, it contains 210T polyester plaid fabric to make it sturdy, breathable, and rainproof. Overall, the Naturehike Cloud Up 2 is a fantastic tent that puts portability, durability, and affordability at the forefront of its design. I have owned this tent for three years and have used it for one to three nights per trip, in all seasons, in Scotland. I have pitched on hills and mountains, in the cold, in the wind and in the rain. Though mine has a snow skirt I have not camped in the snow.

Moreover, because this shelter has just one vestibule, your gear space is quite limited, so you’ll likely need to stash a lot of your gear outside at night. With a waterproof coating that resists up to 3000mm of water, this tent will keep you dry in most weather conditions. The tents that Naturehike produces are near copies of higher-end brands; however, Naturehike uses cheaper materials and a faster manufacturing process to cut down on costs. Weather Resistance: Has been used in Scottish weather; namely howling, driving, screeching banshee gale-force monsoons. Not a drop of rain has ever entered. If you’re going to be covering long distances in reasonably mild weather, the Vik 1 would be the best choice. For a wetter and windier itinerary, I’d take the slightly heavier Taga 2.
