I haven’t been able to find any information which suggests that Morrisons’ own-brand teabags are plastic-free. This means that for now, Morrisons is on the list of teabags that do contain plastic, until I hear otherwise. Tesco

I can’t confirm if the string in teabags is only made of cotton, they may contain nylon or other man made fibers. I’d probably suggest that if strands are floating in your tea then it’s probably not a good idea to drink it. I’m not sure I’d want to. The tea’s bold taste comes from its blend of Indian Assam, Kenyan and Sri Lankan Ceylon tea leaves. The mountain-grown Ceylon is what sets it apart in particular, adding a welcome sharpness and depth that rounds out its flavour.
If you don’t have access to council food waste collections, then to dispose of PLA teabags it is best to tear open the bag to allow you to compost the tea leaves in your garden. Then put the teabag in with your general waste.This way the string hangs safely on the cup edge at a proper balance. It also avoids the chances of the string falling into the water as it would with one-sided cards.
